Vakʰaaṇæ. 1. ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰੇ। describe, explain. “ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਆਖਿ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥” ਆਸਾ ੪, ਸੋਪੁ ੨, ੩:੨ (੧੧). 2. ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ। say, pray. “ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਸੋਇ ॥” ਸਿਰੀ ੧, ਅਸ ੧੭, ੫:੨ (੬੪) “ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ ਬੇਦ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥” ਮਾਝ ੩, ਅਸ ੮, ੭:੧ (੧੧੪). 3. ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪੜਦਾ ਹੈ। utter mutter parayer. “ਤੇਰਾ ਦੀਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥” (ਜਪਦਾ/ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਵਡ ੫, ੮, ੧:੨ (੫੬੩).
