ਨਾਇਕੁ ਏਕੁ ਬਨਜਾਰੇ ਪਾਚ ॥ नाइकु एकु बनजारे पाच ॥ Naa▫ik ék banjaaré paach. There is one merchant and five traders. ਬਰਧ ਪਚੀਸਕ ਸੰਗੁ ਕਾਚ ॥ बरध पचीसक संगु काच ॥ Baraḋʰ pacheesak sang kaach. The twenty-five oxen carry false merchandise. ਮੋਹਿ ਐਸੇ ਬਨਜ ਸਿਉ ਨਹੀਨ ਕਾਜੁ ॥ मोहि ऐसे बनज सिउ नहीन काजु ॥ Mohi æsé banaj si▫o naheen kaaj. I don’t care at all about such commerce. ਨਉ ਬਹੀਆਂ ਦਸ ਗੋਨਿ ਆਹਿ ॥ नउ बहीआं दस गोनि आहि ॥ Na▫o bahee▫aaⁿ ḋas gon aahi. There are nine poles which hold the ten bags. ਕਸਨਿ ਬਹਤਰਿ ਲਾਗੀ ਤਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ कसनि बहतरि लागी ताहि ॥१॥ Kasan bahṫar laagee ṫaahi. ||1|| The body is tied by the seventy-two ropes. ||1|| ਜਿਹ ਘਟੈ ਮੂਲੁ ਨਿਤ ਬਢੈ ਬਿਆਜੁ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ जिह घटै मूलु नित बढै बिआजु ॥ रहाउ ॥ Jih gʰatæ mool niṫ badʰæ bi▫aaj. Rahaa▫o. It depletes my capital, and the interest charges only increase. ||Pause|| ਸਾਤ ਸੂਤ ਮਿਲਿ ਬਨਜੁ ਕੀਨ ॥ सात सूत मिलि बनजु कीन ॥ Saaṫ sooṫ mil banaj keen. Weaving the seven threads together, they carry on their trade. ਕਰਮ ਭਾਵਨੀ ਸੰਗ ਲੀਨ ॥ करम भावनी संग लीन ॥ Karam bʰaavnee sang leen. They are led on by the karma of their past actions. ਤੀਨਿ ਜਗਾਤੀ ਕਰਤ ਰਾਰਿ ॥ तीनि जगाती करत रारि ॥ Ṫeen jagaaṫee karaṫ raar. The three tax-collectors argue with them. ਚਲੋ ਬਨਜਾਰਾ ਹਾਥ ਝਾਰਿ ॥੨॥ चलो बनजारा हाथ झारि ॥२॥ Chalo banjaaraa haaṫʰ jʰaar. ||2|| The traders depart empty-handed. ||2|| ਪੂੰਜੀ ਹਿਰਾਨੀ ਬਨਜੁ ਟੂਟ ॥ पूंजी हिरानी बनजु टूट ॥ Poonjee hiraanee banaj toot. Their capital is exhausted, and their trade is ruined. ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਟਾਂਡੋ ਗਇਓ ਫੂਟਿ ॥ दह दिस टांडो गइओ फूटि ॥ Ḋah ḋis taaⁿdo ga▫i▫o foot. The caravan is scattered in ten directions. ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਮਨ ਸਰਸੀ ਕਾਜ ॥ कहि कबीर मन सरसी काज ॥ Kahi Kabeer man sarsee kaaj. Says Kabir, O mortal, your tasks will be accomplished, ਸਹਜ ਸਮਾਨੋ ਤ ਭਰਮ ਭਾਜ ॥੩॥੬॥ सहज समानो त भरम भाज ॥३॥६॥ Sahj samaano ṫa bʰaram bʰaaj. ||3||6|| when you merge in the Celestial Lord; let your doubts run away. ||3||6||
