Saarang, The Word Of Namdev Jee: ਭੂਲੌ ਰੇ ਠਗਮੂਰੀ ਖਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ भूलौ रे ठगमूरी खाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Bʰoolou ré tʰagmooree kʰaa▫é. ||1|| rahaa▫o. You have been misled into eating the toxic drug. ||1||Pause|| ਜੈਸੇ ਮੀਨੁ ਪਾਨੀ ਮਹਿ ਰਹੈ ॥ जैसे मीनु पानी महि रहै ॥ Jæsé meen paanee mėh rahæ. You are like a fish living in the water; ਕਾਏਂ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਬਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ काएं रे मन बिखिआ बन जाइ ॥ Kaa▫éⁿ ré man bikʰi▫aa ban jaa▫é. O mortal, why are you going into the forest of corruption? ਕਾਲ ਜਾਲ ਕੀ ਸੁਧਿ ਨਹੀ ਲਹੈ ॥ काल जाल की सुधि नही लहै ॥ Kaal jaal kee suḋʰ nahee lahæ. you do not see the net of death. ਜਿਹਬਾ ਸੁਆਦੀ ਲੀਲਿਤ ਲੋਹ ॥ जिहबा सुआदी लीलित लोह ॥ Jihbaa su▫aaḋee leeliṫ loh. Trying to taste the flavor, you swallow the hook. ਐਸੇ ਕਨਿਕ ਕਾਮਨੀ ਬਾਧਿਓ ਮੋਹ ॥੧॥ ऐसे कनिक कामनी बाधिओ मोह ॥१॥ Æsé kanik kaamnee baaḋʰi▫o moh. ||1|| You are bound by attachment to wealth and your woman. ||1|| ਜਿਉ ਮਧੁ ਮਾਖੀ ਸੰਚੈ ਅਪਾਰ ॥ जिउ मधु माखी संचै अपार ॥ Ji▫o maḋʰ maakʰee sanchæ apaar. The bee stores up loads of honey; ਮਧੁ ਲੀਨੋ ਮੁਖਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਛਾਰੁ ॥ मधु लीनो मुखि दीनी छारु ॥ Maḋʰ leeno mukʰ ḋeenee chʰaar. then someone comes and takes the honey, and throws dust in its mouth. ਗਊ ਬਾਛ ਕਉ ਸੰਚੈ ਖੀਰੁ ॥ गऊ बाछ कउ संचै खीरु ॥ Ga▫oo baachʰ ka▫o sanchæ kʰeer. The cow stores up loads of milk; ਗਲਾ ਬਾਂਧਿ ਦੁਹਿ ਲੇਇ ਅਹੀਰੁ ॥੨॥ गला बांधि दुहि लेइ अहीरु ॥२॥ Galaa baaⁿḋʰ ḋuhi lé▫é aheer. ||2|| then the milkman comes and ties it by its neck and milks it. ||2|| ਮਾਇਆ ਕਾਰਨਿ ਸ੍ਰਮੁ ਅਤਿ ਕਰੈ ॥ माइआ कारनि स्रमु अति करै ॥ Maa▫i▫aa kaaran saram aṫ karæ. For the sake of Maya, the mortal works very hard. ਸੋ ਮਾਇਆ ਲੈ ਗਾਡੈ ਧਰੈ ॥ सो माइआ लै गाडै धरै ॥ So maa▫i▫aa læ gaadæ ḋʰaræ. He takes the wealth of Maya, and buries it in the ground. ਅਤਿ ਸੰਚੈ ਸਮਝੈ ਨਹੀ ਮੂੜੑ ॥ अति संचै समझै नही मूड़्ह ॥ Aṫ sanchæ samjʰæ nahee mooṛĥ. He acquires so much, but the fool does not appreciate it. ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਤਿ ਜਰੈ ॥ काम क्रोध त्रिसना अति जरै ॥ Kaam kroḋʰ ṫarisnaa aṫ jaræ. He burns in tremendous sexual desire, unresolved anger and desire. ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕਬਹੂ ਨਹੀ ਕਰੈ ॥ साधसंगति कबहू नही करै ॥ Saaḋʰsangaṫ kabhoo nahee karæ. He never joins the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ਧਨੁ ਧਰਤੀ ਤਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਗਇਓ ਧੂੜਿ ॥੩॥ धनु धरती तनु होइ गइओ धूड़ि ॥३॥ Ḋʰan ḋʰarṫee ṫan ho▫é ga▫i▫o ḋʰooṛ. ||3|| His wealth remains buried in the ground, while his body turns to dust. ||3|| ਕਹਤ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਤਾ ਚੀ ਆਣਿ ॥ कहत नामदेउ ता ची आणि ॥ Kahaṫ naamḋé▫o ṫaa chee aaṇ. Says Namdev, seek God’s Shelter; ਨਿਰਭੈ ਹੋਇ ਭਜੀਐ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥੪॥੧॥ निरभै होइ भजीऐ भगवान ॥४॥१॥ Nirbʰæ ho▫é bʰajee▫æ bʰagvaan. ||4||1|| be fearless, and vibrate on the Lord God. ||4||1||
