ਤਿਸੁ ਰੂਪੁ ਨ ਰੇਖਿਆ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
तिसु रूपु न रेखिआ घटि घटि देखिआ गुरमुखि अलखु लखावणिआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ṫis roop na rékʰ▫i▫aa gʰat gʰat ḋékʰi▫aa gurmukʰ alakʰ lakʰaavaṇi▫aa. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
He has no form or shape; He is seen within each and every heart. The Gurmukh comes to know the unknowable. ||1||Pause||

ਤੂ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
तू दइआलु किरपालु प्रभु सोई ॥
Ṫoo ḋa▫i▫aal kirpaal parabʰ so▫ee.
You are God, Kind and Merciful.

ਤੁਧੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥
तुधु बिनु दूजा अवरु न कोई ॥
Ṫuḋʰ bin ḋoojaa avar na ko▫ee.
Without You, there is no other at all.

ਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਸਾਦੁ ਕਰੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਵੈ ਨਾਮੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੨॥
गुरु परसादु करे नामु देवै नामे नामि समावणिआ ॥२॥
Gur parsaaḋ karé naam ḋévæ naamé naam samaavaṇi▫aa. ||2||
When the Guru showers His Grace upon us, He blesses us with the Naam; through the Naam, we merge in the Naam. ||2||
|
ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਸਚਾ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
तूं आपे सचा सिरजणहारा ॥
Ṫooⁿ aapé sachaa sirjaṇhaaraa.
You Yourself are the True Creator Lord.
|
ਭਗਤੀ ਭਰੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰਾ ॥
भगती भरे तेरे भंडारा ॥
Bʰagṫee bʰaré ṫéré bʰandaaraa.
Your treasures are overflowing with devotional worship.
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਮਨੁ ਭੀਜੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਲਗਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੩॥
गुरमुखि नामु मिलै मनु भीजै सहजि समाधि लगावणिआ ॥३॥
Gurmukʰ naam milæ man bʰeejæ sahj samaaḋʰ lagaavaṇi▫aa. ||3||
The Gurmukhs obtain the Naam. Their minds are enraptured, and they easily and intuitively enter into Samadhi. ||3||

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੇ ॥
अनदिनु गुण गावा प्रभ तेरे ॥
An▫ḋin guṇ gaavaa parabʰ ṫéré.
Night and day, I sing Your Glorious Praises, God.
|
ਤੁਧੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਮੇਰੇ ॥
तुधु सालाही प्रीतम मेरे ॥
Ṫuḋʰ saalaahee pareeṫam méré.
I praise You, O my Beloved.
|
ਤੁਧੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਚਾ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਤੂੰ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੪॥
तुधु बिनु अवरु न कोई जाचा गुर परसादी तूं पावणिआ ॥४॥
Ṫuḋʰ bin avar na ko▫ee jaachaa gur parsaadee ṫooⁿ paavṇi▫aa. ||4||
Without You, there is no other for me to seek out. It is only by Guru’s Grace that You are found. ||4||
|
ਅਗਮੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਮਿਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਈ ॥
अगमु अगोचरु मिति नही पाई ॥
Agam agochar miṫ nahee paa▫ee.
The limits of the Inaccessible and Incomprehensible Lord cannot be found.

ਅਪਣੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹਿ ਤੂੰ ਲੈਹਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥
अपणी क्रिपा करहि तूं लैहि मिलाई ॥
Apṇee kirpaa karahi ṫooⁿ læhi milaa▫ee.
Bestowing Your Mercy, You merge us into Yourself.
|
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੫॥
पूरे गुर कै सबदि धिआईऐ सबदु सेवि सुखु पावणिआ ॥५॥
Pooré gur kæ sabaḋ ḋʰi▫aa▫ee▫æ sabaḋ sév sukʰ paavṇi▫aa. ||5||
Through the Shabad, the Word of the Perfect Guru, we meditate on the Lord. Serving the Shabad, peace is found. ||5||
|
ਰਸਨਾ ਗੁਣਵੰਤੀ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
रसना गुणवंती गुण गावै ॥
Rasnaa guṇvanṫee guṇ gaavæ.
Praiseworthy is the tongue which sings the Lord’s Glorious Praises.
|
ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹੇ ਸਚੇ ਭਾਵੈ ॥
नामु सलाहे सचे भावै ॥
Naam salaahé saché bʰaavæ.
Praising the Naam, one becomes pleasing to the True One.
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਦਾ ਰਹੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਚੇ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੬॥
गुरमुखि सदा रहै रंगि राती मिलि सचे सोभा पावणिआ ॥६॥
Gurmukʰ saḋaa rahæ rang raaṫee mil saché sobʰaa paavṇi▫aa. ||6||
The Gurmukh remains forever imbued with the Lord’s Love. Meeting the True Lord, glory is obtained. ||6||
|
ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਕਰਮ ਕਰੇ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ ॥
मनमुखु करम करे अहंकारी ॥
Manmukʰ karam karé ahaⁿkaaree.
The self-willed Manmukhs do their deeds in ego.
|
ਜੂਐ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਭ ਬਾਜੀ ਹਾਰੀ ॥
जूऐ जनमु सभ बाजी हारी ॥
Joo▫æ janam sabʰ baajee haaree.
They lose their whole lives in the gamble.
|
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਲੋਭੁ ਮਹਾ ਗੁਬਾਰਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥
अंतरि लोभु महा गुबारा फिरि फिरि आवण जावणिआ ॥७॥
Anṫar lobʰ mahaa gubaaraa fir fir aavaṇ jaavaṇi▫aa. ||7||
Within is the terrible darkness of greed, and so they come and go in reincarnation, over and over again. ||7||
|
ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਦੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
आपे करता दे वडिआई ॥
Aapé karṫaa ḋé vadi▫aa▫ee.
The Creator Himself bestows Glory on those,
|
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਆਪਿ ਲਿਖਤੁ ਧੁਰਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
जिन कउ आपि लिखतु धुरि पाई ॥
Jin ka▫o aap likʰaṫ ḋʰur paa▫ee.
whom He Himself has so predestined.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਭਉ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੮॥੧॥੩੪॥
नानक नामु मिलै भउ भंजनु गुर सबदी सुखु पावणिआ ॥८॥१॥३४॥
Naanak naam milæ bʰa▫o bʰanjan gur sabḋee sukʰ paavṇi▫aa. ||8||1||34||
O Nanak! They receive the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the Destroyer of fear; through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, they find peace. ||8||1||34||

ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਘਰੁ ੧ ॥
माझ महला ५ घरु १ ॥
Maajʰ mėhlaa 5 gʰar 1.
Maajh, Fifth Mehl, First House:
|
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਅਲਖੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਲਖਿਆ ॥
अंतरि अलखु न जाई लखिआ ॥
Anṫar alakʰ na jaa▫ee lakʰi▫aa.
The Unseen Lord is within, but He cannot be seen.
|
ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਲੈ ਗੁਝਾ ਰਖਿਆ ॥
नामु रतनु लै गुझा रखिआ ॥
Naam raṫan læ gujʰaa rakʰi▫aa.
He has taken the Jewel of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and He keeps it well concealed.

ਅਗਮੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚਾ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਲਖਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥
अगमु अगोचरु सभ ते ऊचा गुर कै सबदि लखावणिआ ॥१॥
Agam agochar sabʰ ṫé oochaa gur kæ sabaḋ lakʰaavaṇi▫aa. ||1||
The Inaccessible and Incomprehensible Lord is the highest of all. Through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, He is known. ||1||
|
ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਕਲਿ ਮਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਣਾਵਣਿਆ ॥
हउ वारी जीउ वारी कलि महि नामु सुणावणिआ ॥
Ha▫o vaaree jee▫o vaaree kal mėh naam suṇaavṇi▫aa.
I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to those who chant the Naam, in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga.

ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਚੈ ਧਾਰੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
संत पिआरे सचै धारे वडभागी दरसनु पावणिआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sanṫ pi▫aaré sachæ ḋʰaaré vadbʰaagee ḋarsan paavṇi▫aa. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
The Beloved Saints were established by the True Lord. By great good fortune, the Blessed Vision of their Darshan is obtained. ||1||Pause||
|
ਸਾਧਿਕ ਸਿਧ ਜਿਸੈ ਕਉ ਫਿਰਦੇ ॥
साधिक सिध जिसै कउ फिरदे ॥
Saaḋʰik siḋʰ jisæ ka▫o firḋé.
The One who is sought by the Siddhas and the seekers,
|
ਬ੍ਰਹਮੇ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਧਿਆਇਨਿ ਹਿਰਦੇ ॥
ब्रहमे इंद्र धिआइनि हिरदे ॥
Barahmé inḋar ḋʰi▫aa▫in hirḋé.
upon whom Brahma and Indra meditate within their hearts,
|
ਕੋਟਿ ਤੇਤੀਸਾ ਖੋਜਹਿ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਗਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੨॥
कोटि तेतीसा खोजहि ता कउ गुर मिलि हिरदै गावणिआ ॥२॥
Kot ṫéṫeesaa kʰojėh ṫaa ka▫o gur mil hirḋæ gaavaṇi▫aa. ||2||
whom the three hundred thirty million demi-gods search for-meeting the Guru, one comes to sing His Praises within the heart. ||2||
|
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਤੁਧੁ ਜਾਪੇ ਪਵਨਾ ॥
आठ पहर तुधु जापे पवना ॥
Aatʰ pahar ṫuḋʰ jaapé pavnaa.
Twenty-four hours a day, the wind breathes Your Name.
|
ਧਰਤੀ ਸੇਵਕ ਪਾਇਕ ਚਰਨਾ ॥
धरती सेवक पाइक चरना ॥
Ḋʰarṫee sévak paa▫ik charnaa.
The earth is Your servant, a slave at Your Feet.
|
ਖਾਣੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਸਭਨਾ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੩॥
खाणी बाणी सरब निवासी सभना कै मनि भावणिआ ॥३॥
Kʰaaṇee baṇee sarab nivaasee sabʰnaa kæ man bʰaavṇi▫aa. ||3||
In the four sources of creation, and in all speech, You dwell. You are dear to the minds of all. ||3||
|
ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਪੈ ॥
साचा साहिबु गुरमुखि जापै ॥
Saachaa saahib gurmukʰ jaapæ.
The True Lord and Master is known to the Gurmukhs.
|
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਿਞਾਪੈ ॥
पूरे गुर कै सबदि सिञापै ॥
Pooré gur kæ sabaḋ siñaapæ.
He is realized through the Shabad, the Word of the Perfect Guru.
|
ਜਿਨ ਪੀਆ ਸੇਈ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸੇ ਸਚੇ ਸਚਿ ਅਘਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੪॥
जिन पीआ सेई त्रिपतासे सचे सचि अघावणिआ ॥४॥
Jin pee▫aa sé▫ee ṫaripṫaasé saché sach agʰaavaṇi▫aa. ||4||
Those who drink it are satisfied. Through the Truest of the True, they are fulfilled. ||4||
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਘਰਿ ਸਹਜਾ ਸੋਈ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ॥
तिसु घरि सहजा सोई सुहेला ॥
Ṫis gʰar sahjaa so▫ee suhélaa.
In the home of their own beings, they are peacefully and comfortably at ease.
|
ਅਨਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਕਰੇ ਸਦ ਕੇਲਾ ॥
अनद बिनोद करे सद केला ॥
Anaḋ binoḋ karé saḋ kélaa.
They are blissful, enjoying pleasures, and eternally joyful.
|
ਸੋ ਧਨਵੰਤਾ ਸੋ ਵਡ ਸਾਹਾ ਜੋ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੫॥
सो धनवंता सो वड साहा जो गुर चरणी मनु लावणिआ ॥५॥
So ḋʰanvanṫaa so vad saahaa jo gur charṇee man laavaṇi▫aa. ||5||
They are wealthy, and the greatest kings; they center their minds on the Guru’s Feet. ||5||
|
ਪਹਿਲੋ ਦੇ ਤੈਂ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਸਮਾਹਾ ॥
पहिलो दे तैं रिजकु समाहा ॥
Pahilo ḋé ṫæⁿ rijak samaahaa.
First, You created nourishment;
|
ਪਿਛੋ ਦੇ ਤੈਂ ਜੰਤੁ ਉਪਾਹਾ ॥
पिछो दे तैं जंतु उपाहा ॥
Pichʰo ḋé ṫæⁿ janṫ upaahaa.
then, You created the living beings.
|
ਤੁਧੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਲਵੈ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੬॥
तुधु जेवडु दाता अवरु न सुआमी लवै न कोई लावणिआ ॥६॥
Ṫuḋʰ jévad ḋaaṫaa avar na su▫aamee lavæ na ko▫ee laavaṇi▫aa. ||6||
There is no other Giver as Great as You, O my Lord and Master. None approach or equal You. ||6||
|
ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂੰ ਤੁਠਾ ਸੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਧਿਆਏ ॥
जिसु तूं तुठा सो तुधु धिआए ॥
Jis ṫooⁿ ṫutʰaa so ṫuḋʰ ḋʰi▫aa▫é.
Those who are pleasing to You meditate on You.
|
ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਕਾ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਕਮਾਏ ॥
साध जना का मंत्रु कमाए ॥
Saaḋʰ janaa kaa manṫar kamaa▫é.
They practice the Mantra of the Holy.
|
ਆਪਿ ਤਰੈ ਸਗਲੇ ਕੁਲ ਤਾਰੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਦਰਗਹ ਠਾਕ ਨ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥
आपि तरै सगले कुल तारे तिसु दरगह ठाक न पावणिआ ॥७॥
Aap ṫaræ saglé kul ṫaaré ṫis ḋargėh tʰaak na paavṇi▫aa. ||7||
They themselves swim across, and they save all their ancestors and families as well. In the Court of the Lord, they meet with no obstruction. ||7||
