Jin gur mo ka▫o ḏīnā jī▫o.
The Guru who gave me my soul,
ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜਿੰਦ ਜਾਨ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ,

Āpunā ḏāsrā āpe mul lī▫o. ||6||
has Himself purchased me, and made me His slave. ||6||
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਖੁਦ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਖਰੀਦ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਗੋਲਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।

Āpe lā▫i▫o apnā pi▫ār.
He Himself has blessed me with His Love.
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਖ਼ੁਦ-ਬ-ਖ਼ੁਦ ਮੇਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਦਿਤੀ ਹੈ।

Saḏā saḏā ṯis gur ka▫o karī namaskār. ||7||
Forever and ever, I humbly bow to the Guru. ||7||
ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

Kal kales bẖai bẖaram ḏukẖ lāthā.
My troubles, conflicts, fears, doubts and pains have been dispelled;
ਮੇਰੀ ਕਲਪਣਾ, ਝੇੜਾ, ਡਰ, ਸੰਦੇਹ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਆਰਾਮੀ ਮੁਕ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

Kaho Nānak merā gur samrāthā. ||8||9||
says Nanak, my Guru is All-powerful. ||8||9||
ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫੁਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਐਸਾ ਬਲੀ ਹੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ।

ਗਊੜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀ।

Mil mere gobinḏ apnā nām ḏeh.
Meet me, O my Lord of the Universe. Please bless me with Your Name.
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼।

Nām binā ḏẖarig ḏẖarig asnehu. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, cursed, cursed is love and intimacy. ||1||Pause||
ਲਾਨ੍ਹਤ ਅਤੇ ਫਿੱਟੇ-ਮੂੰਹ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੇ ਜੋ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਗੇਰ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Nām binā jo pahirai kẖā▫e.
Without the Naam, one who dresses and eats well
ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਹਿਨਦਾ ਤੇ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,।

Ji▫o kūkar jūṯẖan mėh pā▫e. ||1||
is like a dog, who falls in and eats impure foods. ||1||
ਉਹ ਉਸ ਕੁੱਤੇ ਦੀ ਮਾਨੰਦ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਜੂਠੀਆਂ ਪੱਤਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੈ।

Nām binā jeṯā bi▫uhār.
Without the Naam, all occupations are useless,
ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਸਾਰਾ ਕਾਰ-ਵਿਹਾਰ ਇੰਜ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੈ,

Ji▫o mirṯak mithi▫ā sīgār. ||2||
like the decorations on a dead body. ||2||
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਲੋਥ ਉਤੇ ਹਾਰ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ

Nām bisār kare ras bẖog.
One who forgets the Naam and indulges in pleasures,
ਜੋ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਰੰਗ ਰਲੀਆਂ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ,
|
Sukẖ supnai nahī ṯan mėh rog. ||3||
shall find no peace, even in dreams; his body shall become diseased. ||3||
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੀ ਆਰਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਦੇਹਿ ਰੋਗੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

Nām ṯi▫āg kare an kāj.
One who renounces the Naam and engages in other occupations,
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਜੇਕਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਹੋਰ ਧੰਦੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,।

Binas jā▫e jẖūṯẖe sabẖ pāj. ||4||
shall see all of his false pretenses fall away. ||4||
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕੂੜੀ ਲਿਟਸਾਜੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਹੀ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।

Nām sang man parīṯ na lāvai.
One whose mind does not embrace love for the Naam
ਇਨਸਾਨ ਜੋ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਨੇਹੁੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਗੰਢਦਾ ਦੋਜ਼ਕ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,

Kot karam karṯo narak jāvai. ||5||
shall go to hell, even though he may perform millions of ceremonial rituals. ||5||
ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਕਰਮ-ਕਾਂਡ ਪਿਆ ਕਰੇ।

Har kā nām jin man na ārāḏẖā.
One whose mind does not contemplate the Name of the Lord
ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ,

Cẖor kī ni▫ā▫ī jam pur bāḏẖā. ||6||
is bound like a thief, in the City of Death. ||6||
ਉਹ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਤਸਕਰ ਦੀ ਮਾਨੰਦ ਨਰੜਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Lākẖ adambar bahuṯ bisthārā.
Hundreds of thousands of ostentatious shows and great expanses -
ਲੱਖਾਂ ਨੁਮਾਇਸ਼ਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਘਨੇਰੇ ਖਿਲਾਰੇ।

Nām binā jẖūṯẖe pāsārā. ||7||
without the Naam, all these displays are false. ||7||
ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਕੂੜੇ ਹਨ ਦਿਖਾਵੇ।

Har kā nām so▫ī jan le▫e.
That humble being repeats the Name of the Lord,
ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,

Kar kirpā Nānak jis ḏe▫e. ||8||10||
O Nanak, whom the Lord blesses with His Mercy. ||8||10||
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬਖਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ।

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:
ਗਊੜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ।

Āḏ maḏẖ jo anṯ nibāhai.
The one who shall stand by me in the beginning, in the middle and in the end,
ਜੋ ਆਰੰਭ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਅਖੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰਾ ਪੱਖ ਪੂਰਦਾ ਹੈ,

So sājan merā man cẖāhai. ||1||
my mind longs for that Friend. ||1||
ਉਸ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀ ਲੋੜਦੀ ਹੈ।

Har kī parīṯ saḏā sang cẖālai.
The Lord's Love goes with us forever.
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ, ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ, ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਥ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Ḏa▫i▫āl purakẖ pūran paraṯipālai. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The Perfect and Merciful Lord cherishes all. ||1||Pause||
ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਮਾਲਕ, ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਪੋਸਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Binsaṯ nāhī cẖẖod na jā▫e.
He shall never perish, and He shall never abandon me.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਕਿਧਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ।

Jah pekẖā ṯah rahi▫ā samā▫e. ||2||
Wherever I look, there I see Him pervading and permeating. ||2||
ਜਿਥੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਥੇ ਉਹ ਰਮ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

Sunḏar sugẖaṛ cẖaṯur jī▫a ḏāṯā.
He is Beautiful, All-knowing, the most Clever, the Giver of life.
ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸੁਹਣਾ, ਸਿਆਣਾ, ਤੇਜ਼ ਸਮਝ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਜਿੰਦ-ਜਾਨ ਦੇਣਹਾਰ ਹੈ।

Bẖā▫ī pūṯ piṯā parabẖ māṯā. ||3||
God is my Brother, Son, Father and Mother. ||3||
ਮਾਲਕ ਮੇਰਾ ਵੀਰ, ਪੁੱਤ੍ਰ, ਬਾਬਲ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਮੜੀ ਹੈ।

Jīvan parān aḏẖār merī rās.
He is the Support of the breath of life; He is my Wealth.
ਉਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਿੰਦੜੀ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਹੈ।

Parīṯ lā▫ī kar riḏai nivās. ||4||
Abiding within my heart, He inspires me to enshrine love for Him. ||4||
ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਤਰ ਆਤਮੇ ਵਾਸਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ।

Mā▫i▫ā silak kātī gopāl.
The Lord of the World has cut away the noose of Maya.
ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਮੋਹਣੀ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟੀ ਹੈ।

Kar apunā līno naḏar nihāl. ||5||
He has made me His own, blessing me with His Glance of Grace. ||5||
ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗ੍ਹਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੱਲ ਝਾਕ ਕੇ ਉਸਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਿੱਜ ਦਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।

Simar simar kāte sabẖ rog.
Remembering, remembering Him in meditation, all diseases are healed.
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਜਹਿਮਤਾ ਟਲ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ।

Cẖaraṇ ḏẖi▫ān sarab sukẖ bẖog. ||6||
Meditating on His Feet, all comforts are enjoyed. ||6||
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਬਿਰਤੀ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ, ਸਾਰੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਮਾਣ ਲਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Pūran purakẖ navṯan niṯ bālā.
The Perfect Primal Lord is Ever-fresh and Ever-young.
ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਦਾ ਨਵਾਂਨੁੱਕ ਅਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਜੁਆਨ ਹੈ।

Har anṯar bāhar sang rakẖvālā. ||7||
The Lord is with me, inwardly and outwardly, as my Protector. ||7||
ਅੰਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਖੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ।

Kaho Nānak har har paḏ cẖīn.
Says Nanak, that devotee who realizes the state of the Lord, Har, Har,
ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫੁਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਮਰਤਬੇ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,

Sarbas nām bẖagaṯ ka▫o ḏīn. ||8||11||
is blessed with the treasure of the Naam. ||8||11||
ਉਹ ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਮੂਹ ਦੌਲਤ ਵਜੋ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਰਾਗ ਗਊੜੀ ਮਾਝ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ।

Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Kẖojaṯ fire asaʼnkẖ anṯ na pārī▫ā.
Countless are those who wander around searching for You, but they do not find Your limits.
ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਭਾਲਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਓੜਕ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ।

Se▫ī ho▫e bẖagaṯ jinā kirpārī▫ā. ||1||
They alone are Your devotees, who are blessed by Your Grace. ||1||
ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਅਨੁਰਾਗੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹੈ।

Ha▫o vārī▫ā har vārī▫ā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
I am a sacrifice, I am a sacrifice to You. ||1||Pause||
ਮੈਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹਾਂ, ਤੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ, ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Suṇ suṇ panth darā▫o bahuṯ bẖaihārī▫ā.
Continually hearing of the terrifying path, I am so afraid.
ਭਿਆਨਕ ਮਾਰਗ ਬਾਰੇ, ਸੁਣ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ, ਮੈਂ ਅਤੀ ਭੈ-ਭੀਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾਂ।

Mai ṯakī ot sanṯāh leho ubārī▫ā. ||2||
I have sought the Protection of the Saints; please, save me! ||2||
ਮੈਂ ਸਾਧੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਣਾਗਤ ਸੰਭਾਲੀ ਹੈ ਹੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਰਖਿਆ ਕਰ।
