According to Hindu mythology, one age of this creation is called ‘Juga’. Yugas are four in number: Satjuga, Treta, Dwapar and Kaljuga. Each age is 1728000, 1596000, 964000 and 472000 years (human years) respectively; all this time together forms a ‘Maha Jug’. The lifespan of each age has been progressively reduced. The idea related to this is that the physical strength and behavior of the beings in these ages are getting weaker, so the age of the ages is also decreasing.
