ਫ਼ਾ. [درویش] ਨਾਮ/n. ਦਰ-ਆਵੇਜ਼. ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਪੁਰ ਆਵੇਜ਼ (ਲਟਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ). ਮੰਗਤਾ। 2. ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਦਾ ਯਾਚਕ, ਭਗਤ. ਸਾਧੁ. “ਦਰਵੇਸੀ ਕੋ ਜਾਣਸੀ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਕੋ ਦਰਵੇਸ.” (ਮਃ ੩ ਵਾਰ ਬਿਹਾ) 3. ਕਈ ਵਿਦ੍ਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੁਰਵੇਸ਼ (ਮੋਤੀ ਜੇਹਾ) ਤੋਂ ਦਰਵੇਸ਼ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਹੈ. Footnotes:
