ਸੰ. सम्मुख- ਸੰਮੁਖ. ਕ੍ਰਿ. ਵਿ. ਸਾਮ੍ਹਣੇ. ਮੁਖ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ. “ਸਨਮੁਖ ਸਹਿ ਬਾਨ.” (ਆਸਾ ਛੰਤ ਮਃ ੫) 2. ਭਾਵ- ਆਗ੍ਯਾਕਾਰੀ. “ਮੋਹਰੀ ਪੁਤੁ ਸਨਮੁਖੁ ਹੋਇਆ.” (ਸਦੁ) 3. ਨਾਮ/n. ਗੁਰੂ ਵੱਲ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਮੁਖ, ਅਤੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਪਿੱਠ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ. ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਤ੍ਰੀ ਆਦਿ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਗੁਣ ਹਨ.
“ਮੈਤ੍ਰੀ ਕਰੁਣਾ ਦ੍ਵੈ ਲਖੋ ਮੁਦਿਤਾ ਤੀਜੀ ਜਾਨ।
ਚਤੁਰ ਉਪੇਖ੍ਯਾ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਖੈ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਸੋ ਪਹਿਚਾਨ.”{264}

4. ਲਹੌਰ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਾਹੂਕਾਰ, ਜੋ ਭਾਈ ਭਗੀਰਥ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਤੋਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਦਾ ਅਨੰਨ ਸਿੱਖ ਹੋਇਆ. Footnotes:
