Union and separation are ordained by the Primal Lord God. ਪੰਚ ਧਾਤੁ ਕਰਿ ਪੁਤਲਾ ਕੀਆ ॥ पंच धातु करि पुतला कीआ ॥ Panch ḋʰaaṫ kar puṫlaa kee▫aa. The puppet is made from the five elements. ਸਾਹੈ ਕੈ ਫੁਰਮਾਇਅੜੈ ਜੀ ਦੇਹੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਜੀਉ ਆਇ ਪਇਆ ॥੧॥ साहै कै फुरमाइअड़ै जी देही विचि जीउ आइ पइआ ॥१॥ Saahæ kæ furmaa▫i▫aṛæ jee ḋéhee vich jee▫o aa▫é pa▫i▫aa. ||1|| By the Command of the Dear Lord King, the soul came and entered into the body. ||1|| ਜਿਥੈ ਅਗਨਿ ਭਖੈ ਭੜਹਾਰੇ ॥ जिथै अगनि भखै भड़हारे ॥ Jiṫʰæ agan bʰakʰæ bʰaṛhaaré. In that place, where the fire rages like an oven, ਊਰਧ ਮੁਖ ਮਹਾ ਗੁਬਾਰੇ ॥ ऊरध मुख महा गुबारे ॥ Ooraḋʰ mukʰ mahaa gubaaré. in that darkness where the body lies face down - ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਮਾਲੇ ਸੋਈ ਓਥੈ ਖਸਮਿ ਛਡਾਇ ਲਇਆ ॥੨॥ सासि सासि समाले सोई ओथै खसमि छडाइ लइआ ॥२॥ Saas saas samaalé so▫ee oṫʰæ kʰasam chʰadaa▫é la▫i▫aa. ||2|| there, one remembers his Lord and Master with each and every breath, and then he is rescued. ||2|| ਵਿਚਹੁ ਗਰਭੈ ਨਿਕਲਿ ਆਇਆ ॥ विचहु गरभै निकलि आइआ ॥ vichahu garbʰæ nikal aa▫i▫aa. Then, one comes out from within the womb, ਖਸਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਦੁਨੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ॥ खसमु विसारि दुनी चितु लाइआ ॥ Kʰasam visaar ḋunee chiṫ laa▫i▫aa. and forgetting his Lord and Master, he attaches his consciousness to the world. ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ਭਵਾਈਐ ਜੋਨੀ ਰਹਣੁ ਨ ਕਿਤਹੀ ਥਾਇ ਭਇਆ ॥੩॥ आवै जाइ भवाईऐ जोनी रहणु न कितही थाइ भइआ ॥३॥ Aavæ jaa▫é bʰavaa▫ee▫æ jonee rahaṇ na kiṫhee ṫʰaa▫é bʰa▫i▫aa. ||3|| He comes and goes, and wanders in reincarnation; he cannot remain anywhere. ||3|| ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨਿ ਰਖਿ ਲਇਅਨੁ ਆਪੇ ॥ मिहरवानि रखि लइअनु आपे ॥ Miharvaan rakʰ la▫i▫an aapé. The Merciful Lord Himself emancipates. ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਤਿਸ ਕੇ ਥਾਪੇ ॥ जीअ जंत सभि तिस के थापे ॥ Jee▫a janṫ sabʰ ṫis ké ṫʰaapé. He created and established all beings and creatures. ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਜਿਣਿ ਚਲਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਇਆ ਸੋ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਥਿਆ ॥੪॥੧॥੩੧॥ जनमु पदारथु जिणि चलिआ नानक आइआ सो परवाणु थिआ ॥४॥१॥३१॥ Janam paḋaaraṫʰ jiṇ chali▫aa Naanak aa▫i▫aa so parvaaṇ ṫʰi▫aa. ||4||1||31|| Those who depart after having been victorious in this priceless human life - O Nanak! Their coming into the world is approved. ||4||1||31||
