ਏਕਮ ਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਰਉ ਬੰਦਨਾ ਧਿਆਇ ॥ एकम एकंकारु प्रभु करउ बंदना धिआइ ॥ Ékam ékankaar parabʰ kara▫o banḋnaa ḋʰi▫aa▫é. The first day of the lunar cycle: Bow in humility and meditate on the One, the Universal Creator Lord God. ਪਉੜੀ ॥ पउड़ी ॥ Pa▫oṛee. Pauree: ਗੁਣ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਨਿ ਪਰਉ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥ गुण गोबिंद गुपाल प्रभ सरनि परउ हरि राइ ॥ Guṇ gobinḋ gupaal parabʰ saran para▫o har raa▫é. Praise God, the Lord of the Universe, the Sustainer of the World; seek the Sanctuary of the Lord, our King. ਤਾ ਕੀ ਆਸ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਸੁਖ ਜਾ ਤੇ ਸਭੁ ਕਛੁ ਹੋਇ ॥ ता की आस कलिआण सुख जा ते सभु कछु होइ ॥ Ṫaa kee aas kali▫aaṇ sukʰ jaa ṫé sabʰ kachʰ ho▫é. Place your hopes in Him, for salvation and peace; all things come from Him. ਚਾਰਿ ਕੁੰਟ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿਓ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥ चारि कुंट दह दिसि भ्रमिओ तिसु बिनु अवरु न कोइ ॥ Chaar kunt ḋah ḋis bʰarmi▫o ṫis bin avar na ko▫é. I wandered around the four corners of the world and in the ten directions, but I saw nothing except Him. ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸੁਨੇ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਕਰਉ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ बेद पुरान सिम्रिति सुने बहु बिधि करउ बीचारु ॥ Béḋ puraan simriṫ suné baho biḋʰ kara▫o beechaar. I listened to the Vedas, the Puranas and the Smritis, and I pondered over them in so many ways. ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰਨ ਭੈ ਹਰਨ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ॥ पतित उधारन भै हरन सुख सागर निरंकार ॥ Paṫiṫ uḋʰaaran bʰæ haran sukʰ saagar nirankaar. The Saving Grace of sinners, the Destroyer of fear, the Ocean of peace, the Formless Lord. ਦਾਤਾ ਭੁਗਤਾ ਦੇਨਹਾਰੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ दाता भुगता देनहारु तिसु बिनु अवरु न जाइ ॥ Ḋaaṫaa bʰugṫaa ḋénhaar ṫis bin avar na jaa▫é. The Great Giver, the Enjoyer, the Bestower - there is no place at all without Him. ਜੋ ਚਾਹਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਮਿਲੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ॥੧॥ जो चाहहि सोई मिलै नानक हरि गुन गाइ ॥१॥ Jo chaahėh so▫ee milæ Naanak har gun gaa▫é. ||1|| You shall obtain all that you desire, O Nanak! Singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1|| ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਨੀਤ ॥ गोबिंद जसु गाईऐ हरि नीत ॥ Gobinḋ jas gaa▫ee▫æ har neeṫ. Sing the Praises of the Lord, the Lord of the Universe, each and every day. ਮਿਲਿ ਭਜੀਐ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੀਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ मिलि भजीऐ साधसंगि मेरे मीत ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Mil bʰajee▫æ saaḋʰsang méré meeṫ. ||1|| rahaa▫o. Join the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and vibrate, meditate on Him, O my friend. ||1||Pause||
