ਸਚਿ ਰਤੀਆ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਜਿਨਾ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੀਗਾਰਿ ॥ सचि रतीआ सोहागणी जिना गुर कै सबदि सीगारि ॥ Sach raṫee▫aa sohaagaṇee jinaa gur kæ sabaḋ seegaar. The happy soul-brides are imbued with Truth; they are adorned with the Word of the Guru’s Shabad. ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ आसा महला ३ ॥ Aasaa mėhlaa 3. Aasaa, Third Mehl: ਅਵਗਣ ਗੁਣੀ ਬਖਸਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥ अवगण गुणी बखसाइआ हरि सिउ लिव लाई ॥ Avgaṇ guṇee bakʰsaa▫i▫aa har si▫o liv laa▫ee. Through merits, their demerits are forgiven, and they embrace love for the Lord. ਘਰ ਹੀ ਸੋ ਪਿਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ घर ही सो पिरु पाइआ सचै सबदि वीचारि ॥१॥ Gʰar hee so pir paa▫i▫aa sachæ sabaḋ veechaar. ||1|| They find their Husband Lord within their own home, contemplating the True Word of the Shabad. ||1|| ਹਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਕਾਮਣੀ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ हरि वरु पाइआ कामणी गुरि मेलि मिलाई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Har var paa▫i▫aa kaamṇee gur mél milaa▫ee. ||1|| rahaa▫o. The soul-bride then obtains the Lord as her Husband; meeting the Guru, this union comes about. ||1||Pause|| ਇਕਿ ਪਿਰੁ ਹਦੂਰਿ ਨ ਜਾਣਨੑੀ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਇ ॥ इकि पिरु हदूरि न जाणन्ही दूजै भरमि भुलाइ ॥ Ik pir haḋoor na jaaṇanĥee ḋoojæ bʰaram bʰulaa▫é. Some do not know the Presence of their Husband Lord; they are deluded by duality and doubt. ਕਿਉ ਪਾਇਨੑਿ ਡੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਦੁਖੀ ਰੈਣਿ ਵਿਹਾਇ ॥੨॥ किउ पाइन्हि डोहागणी दुखी रैणि विहाइ ॥२॥ Ki▫o paa▫iniĥ dohaagaṇee ḋukʰee ræṇ vihaa▫é. ||2|| How can the forsaken brides meet Him? Their life night passes in pain. ||2|| ਜਿਨ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਸਚੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਸਚੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਇ ॥ जिन कै मनि सचु वसिआ सची कार कमाइ ॥ Jin kæ man sach vasi▫aa sachee kaar kamaa▫é. Those whose minds are filled with the True Lord, perform truthful actions. ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਸਹਜ ਸਿਉ ਸਚੇ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੩॥ अनदिनु सेवहि सहज सिउ सचे माहि समाइ ॥३॥ An▫ḋin sévėh sahj si▫o saché maahi samaa▫é. ||3|| Night and day, they serve the Lord with poise, and are absorbed in the True Lord. ||3|| ਦੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਈਆ ਕੂੜੁ ਬੋਲਿ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਹਿ ॥ दोहागणी भरमि भुलाईआ कूड़ु बोलि बिखु खाहि ॥ Ḋuhaagaṇee bʰaram bʰulaa▫ee▫aa kooṛ bol bikʰ kʰaahi. The forsaken brides wander around, deluded by doubt; telling lies, they eat poison. ਪਿਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਨਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੁੰਞੀ ਸੇਜ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਹਿ ॥੪॥ पिरु न जाणनि आपणा सुंञी सेज दुखु पाहि ॥४॥ Pir na jaaṇan aapṇaa suñee séj ḋukʰ paahi. ||4|| They do not know their Husband Lord, and upon their deserted bed, they suffer in misery. ||4|| ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਮਤੁ ਮਨ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਹਿ ॥ सचा साहिबु एकु है मतु मन भरमि भुलाहि ॥ Sachaa saahib ék hæ maṫ man bʰaram bʰulaahi. The True Lord is the One and only; do not be deluded by doubt, O my mind. ਗੁਰ ਪੂਛਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਹਿ ਸਚੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਹਿ ॥੫॥ गुर पूछि सेवा करहि सचु निरमलु मंनि वसाहि ॥५॥ Gur poochʰ sévaa karahi sach nirmal man vasaahi. ||5|| Consult with the Guru, serve the True Lord, and enshrine the Immaculate Truth within your mind. ||5|| ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਸਦਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਉਮੈ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥ सोहागणी सदा पिरु पाइआ हउमै आपु गवाइ ॥ Sohaagaṇee saḋaa pir paa▫i▫aa ha▫umæ aap gavaa▫é. The happy soul-bride always finds her Husband Lord; she banishes egotism and self-conceit. ਪਿਰ ਸੇਤੀ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗਹਿ ਰਹੀ ਸਚੀ ਸੇਜ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇ ॥੬॥ पिर सेती अनदिनु गहि रही सची सेज सुखु पाइ ॥६॥ Pir séṫee an▫ḋin gėh rahee sachee séj sukʰ paa▫é. ||6|| She remains attached to her Husband Lord, night and day, and she finds peace upon His Bed of Truth. ||6|| ਮੇਰੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਕਰਿ ਗਏ ਪਲੈ ਕਿਛੁ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥ मेरी मेरी करि गए पलै किछु न पाइ ॥ Méree méree kar ga▫é palæ kichʰ na paa▫é. Those who shouted, “Mine! mine!” have departed, without obtaining anything. ਮਹਲੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਡੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਅੰਤਿ ਗਈ ਪਛੁਤਾਇ ॥੭॥ महलु नाही डोहागणी अंति गई पछुताइ ॥७॥ Mahal naahee dohaagaṇee anṫ ga▫ee pachʰuṫaa▫é. ||7|| The separated one does not obtain the Mansion of the Lord’s Presence, and departs, repenting in the end. ||7|| ਸੋ ਪਿਰੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਏਕਸੁ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ सो पिरु मेरा एकु है एकसु सिउ लिव लाइ ॥ So pir méraa ék hæ ékas si▫o liv laa▫é. That Husband Lord of mine is the One and only; I am in love with the One alone. ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਜਿਨੑਾ ਚਖਾਇਓਨੁ ਰਸੁ ਆਇਆ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥ अमृतु जिन्हा चखाइओनु रसु आइआ सहजि सुभाइ ॥ Amriṫ jinĥaa chʰakʰaa▫i▫on ras aa▫i▫aa sahj subʰaa▫é. Those whom the Lord has caused to drink the Ambrosial Nectar, naturally, intuitively, enjoy the sublime essence. ਨਾਨਕ ਜੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਲੋੜਹਿ ਕਾਮਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਇ ॥੮॥੧੧॥੩੩॥ नानक जे सुखु लोड़हि कामणी हरि का नामु मंनि वसाइ ॥८॥११॥३३॥ Naanak jé sukʰ loṛėh kaamṇee har kaa naam man vasaa▫é. ||8||11||33|| O Nanak! If the soul-bride longs for peace, she should enshrine the Lord’s Name within her mind. ||8||11||33||
