I bow low and fall at the Feet of the Guru; if only I could see the Lord! ||3||
ਮੈਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਨੀਵਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਹੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਿਖਾਲ ਦਿਓ।

Mæ kee▫é miṫar anék ikas balihaaree▫aa.
I have made many friends, but I am a sacrifice to the One alone.
ਮੈਂ ਘਨੇਰੇ ਸਜਨ ਬਣਾਏ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਉਤੇ ਹੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

Sabʰ guṇ kis hee naahi har poor bʰandaaree▫aa. ||4||
No one has all virtues; the Lord alone is filled to overflowing with them. ||4||
ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੀ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇਕੀਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ। ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਵਡਿਆਈਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਰੀਪੂਰਨ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ।

Chahu ḋis japee▫æ naa▫o sookʰ savaaree▫aa.
His Name is chanted in the four directions; those who chant it are embellished with peace.
ਚੌਹੀ ਪਾਸੀ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਸ਼ੋਭਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Mæ aahee oṛ ṫuhaar Naanak balihaaree▫aa. ||5||
I seek Your Protection; Nanak is a sacrifice to You. ||5||
ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਲੋੜਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਹੈ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਉਤੋਂ ਘੋਲੀ ਵੰਞਦਾ ਹੈ।

Gur kaadʰi▫o bʰujaa pasaar moh koopaaree▫aa.
The Guru reached out to me, and gave me His Arm; He lifted me up, out of the pit of emotional attachment.
ਆਪਣੀ ਬਾਂਹ ਅਗੇ ਵਧਾ ਕੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਲਗਨ ਦੇ ਖੂਹ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।

Mæ jeeṫi▫o janam apaar bahur na haaree▫aa. ||6||
I have won the incomparable life, and I shall not lose it again. ||6||
ਮੈਂ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਮੁੜਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਰਾਂਗਾ।

Mæ paa▫i▫o sarab niḋʰaan akaṫʰ kaṫʰaaree▫aa.
I have obtained the treasure of all; His Speech is unspoken and subtle.
ਮੈਂ ਹਰ ਸ਼ੈ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਵਾਰਤਾ ਬਿਆਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਹੈ।

In the Court of the Lord, I am honored and glorified; I swing my arms in joy. ||7||
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਕੀਰਤੀਮਾਨ ਹੈ ਮੈਂ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਭੁਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਲਾਰਾਂਗਾ।

Jan Naanak laḋʰaa raṫan amol aapaaree▫aa.
Servant Nanak has received the invaluable and incomparable jewel.
ਗੁਮਾਸ਼ਤੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਸਾਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਣਮੁੱਲਾ ਹੀਰਾ ਲੱਭ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ।

Serving the Guru, I cross over the terrifying world-ocean; I proclaim this loudly to all. ||8||12||

Dye yourself in the color of the Lord’s Love.
ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗ।

Renounce your ego, and dwell upon the spiritual wisdom of the Guru.
ਆਪਣੀ ਹੰਗਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਖਸ਼ੇ ਹੋਏ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਚ ਸਮਝ।

Mil sangaṫ ḋʰur karam likʰi▫o. ||1||
Those who have such preordained destiny, join the Sangat, the Holy Congregation. ||1||
ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਢਲੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਤਿਸੰਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਦੇ ਹਨ।

Jo ḋeesæ so sang na ga▫i▫o.
Whatever you see, shall not go with you.
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੁਛ ਭੀ ਦਿਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ।

Saakaṫ mooṛ lagé pach mu▫i▫o. ||2||
The foolish, faithless cynics are attached - they waste away and die. ||2||
ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਾਇਆਂ ਦਾ ਪੁਜਾਰੀ ਗਲ ਸੜ ਕੇ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

The Name of the Fascinating Lord is all-pervading forever.
ਮੋਹਿਤ ਕਰਨਹਾਰ ਸਾਈਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਲਈ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ।

Kot maḋʰé kinæ gurmukʰ lahi▫o. ||3||
Among millions, how rare is that Gurmukh who attains the Name. ||3||
ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਇਕ ਅੱਧ ਹੀ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Har sanṫan kar namo namo.
Greet the Lord’s Saints humbly, with deep respect.
ਨਮਸਕਾਰ, ਨਮਸਕਾਰਕਰ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਾਧੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ।

Na▫o niḋʰ paavahi aṫul sukʰo. ||4||
You shall obtain the nine treasures, and receive infinite peace. ||4||
ਇੰਜ ਤੂੰ ਨੌ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਨਤ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਾ ਲਵੇਗਾ।

Næn alova▫o saaḋʰ jano.
With your eyes, behold the holy people;
ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਤੱਕ।

Hirḋæ gaavhu naam niḋʰo. ||5||
in your heart, sing the treasure of the Naam. ||5||
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਦਾ ਜਾਇਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰ।

Kaam kroḋʰ lobʰ moh ṫajo.
Abandon sexual desire, anger, greed and emotional attachment.
ਲਿੰਗ ਚੇਸ਼ਟਾ, ਗੁੱਸਾ, ਲਾਲਚ ਤੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦੇ।

Janam maran ḋuhu ṫé rahi▫o. ||6||
Thus, you shall be rid of both birth and death. ||6||
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੰਮਣ ਤੇ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਹਾ ਤੇ ਖਲਾਸੀ ਪਾ ਜਾ।

Ḋookʰ anḋʰéraa gʰar ṫé miti▫o.
Pain and darkness shall depart from your home,
ਦਰਦ ਤੇ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ,

Gur gi▫aan ḋariṛaa▫i▫o ḋeep bali▫o. ||7||
when the Guru implants spiritual wisdom within you, and lights that lamp. ||7||
ਜਦ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਇਸਬਿਤ ਕਰ ਦਿਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਈਸ਼ਵਰੀ ਜੋਤ ਰੋਸ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਦਿਤੀ।

Jin sévi▫aa so paar pari▫o.
One who serves the Lord crosses over to the other side.
ਜੋ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਘਾਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਸਾਗਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

O servant Nanak! The Gurmukh saves the world. ||8||1||13||

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਵਡੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਹਿਮ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

Méræ man sabʰ sukʰ paa▫i▫o. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
My mind has obtained all comforts. ||1||Pause||
ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਏ ਹਨ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Balṫo jalṫo ṫa▫uki▫aa gur chanḋan seeṫlaa▫i▫o. ||1||
I was burning, on fire, and the Guru poured water on me; He is cooling and soothing, like the sandalwood tree. ||1||
ਮੈਂ ਸੁਲਘਦੇ ਤੇ ਸੜਦੇ ਉਤੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਛਿੜਕਿਆਂ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਚੰਨਣ ਵਾਞ ਸੀਤਲ ਹਨ।

Agi▫aan anḋʰéraa mit ga▫i▫aa gur gi▫aan ḋeepaa▫i▫o. ||2||
The darkness of ignorance has been dispelled; the Guru has lit the lamp of spiritual wisdom. ||2||
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ-ਗਿਆਤ ਦੀ ਜੋਤ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਬੇਸਮਝੀ ਦਾ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

Paavak saagar gahro char sanṫan naav ṫaraa▫i▫o. ||3||
The ocean of fire is so deep; the Saints have crossed over, in the boat of the Lord’s Name. ||3||
ਅੱਗ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਡੂੰਘਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬੇੜੀ ਉਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਾਰਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।

Naa ham karam na ḋʰaram such parabʰ gėh bʰujaa aapaa▫i▫o. ||4||
I have no good karma; I have no Dharmic faith or purity. But God has taken me by the arm, and made me His own. ||4||
ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੰਗੇ ਅਮਲ, ਈਮਾਨ ਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ। ਬਾਹੋਂ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।

Bʰa▫o kʰandan ḋukʰ bʰanjno bʰagaṫ vachʰal har naa▫i▫o. ||5||
The Destroyer of fear, the Dispeller of pain, the Lover of His Saints - these are the Names of the Lord. ||5||
ਡਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨਹਾਰ, ਪੀੜ ਮੇਟਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਹਨ।

Anaaṫʰah naaṫʰ kirpaal ḋeen sammriṫʰ sanṫ otaa▫i▫o. ||6||
He is the Master of the masterless, Merciful to the meek, All-powerful, the Support of His Saints. ||6||
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਿਖਸਮਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਖਸਮ, ਮਸਕੀਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ, ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਧੁਆਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।

Nirgunee▫aaré kee bénṫee ḋéh ḋaras har raa▫i▫o. ||7||
I am worthless - I offer this prayer, O my Lord King: “Please, grant me the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan.” ||7||
ਮੈਂ ਨੇਕੀ-ਵਿਹੁਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਹੈ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਵਰ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਦੇ।

Naanak saran ṫuhaaree tʰaakur sévak ḋu▫aaræ aa▫i▫o. ||8||2||14||
Nanak has come to Your Sanctuary, O my Lord and Master; Your servant has come to Your Door. ||8||2||14||
ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਤੇਰਾ ਟਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਬੂਹੇ ਤੇ ਆ ਡਿਗਾ ਹੈ।
