नानक दीजै नाम दानु राखउ हीऐ परोइ ॥५५॥
Naanak ḋeejæ naam ḋaan raakʰa▫o hee▫æ paro▫é. ||55||
Nanak: grant me the Gift of Your Name, Lord, so that I may string it and keep it within my heart. ||55||

गुरदेव माता गुरदेव पिता गुरदेव सुआमी परमेसुरा ॥
Gurḋév maaṫaa gurḋév piṫaa gurḋév su▫aamee parmésuraa.
The Divine Guru is our mother, the Divine Guru is our father; the Divine Guru is our Lord and Master, the Transcendent Lord.

ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਸਖਾ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਬੰਧਿਪ ਸਹੋਦਰਾ ॥
गुरदेव सखा अगिआन भंजनु गुरदेव बंधिप सहोदरा ॥
Gurḋév sakʰaa agi▫aan bʰanjan gurḋév banḋʰip sahoḋaraa.
The Divine Guru is my companion, the Destroyer of ignorance; the Divine Guru is my relative and brother.

ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਦਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਪਦੇਸੈ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਮੰਤੁ ਨਿਰੋਧਰਾ ॥
गुरदेव दाता हरि नामु उपदेसै गुरदेव मंतु निरोधरा ॥
Gurḋév ḋaaṫaa har naam upḋésæ gurḋév manṫ niroḋʰaraa.
The Divine Guru is the Giver, the Teacher of the Lord’s Name. The Divine Guru is the Mantra which never fails.

ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਪਾਰਸ ਪਰਸ ਪਰਾ ॥
गुरदेव सांति सति बुधि मूरति गुरदेव पारस परस परा ॥
Gurḋév saaⁿṫ saṫ buḋʰ mooraṫ gurḋév paaras paras paraa.
The Divine Guru is the image of peace, truth and wisdom. The Divine Guru is the Philosopher’s Stone - touching it, one is transformed.

ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਤੀਰਥੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸਰੋਵਰੁ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨ ਮਜਨੁ ਅਪਰੰਪਰਾ ॥
गुरदेव तीरथु अमृत सरोवरु गुर गिआन मजनु अपर्मपरा ॥
Gurḋév ṫiraṫʰ amriṫ sarovar gur gi▫aan majan apramparaa.
The Divine Guru is the sacred shrine of pilgrimage, and the pool of divine nectar; bathing in the Guru’s wisdom, one experiences the Infinite.

ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਭਿ ਪਾਪ ਹਰਤਾ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਪਤਿਤ ਪਵਿਤ ਕਰਾ ॥
गुरदेव करता सभि पाप हरता गुरदेव पतित पवित करा ॥
Gurḋév karṫaa sabʰ paap harṫaa gurḋév paṫiṫ paviṫ karaa.
The Divine Guru is the Creator, and the Destroyer of all sins; the Divine Guru is the Purifier of sinners.

ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਮੰਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਉਧਰਾ ॥
गुरदेव आदि जुगादि जुगु जुगु गुरदेव मंतु हरि जपि उधरा ॥
Gurḋév aaḋ jugaaḋ jug jug gurḋév manṫ har jap uḋʰraa.
The Divine Guru existed in the very beginning, throughout the ages, in each and every age. The Divine Guru is the Mantra of the Lord’s Name; chanting it, one is saved.

ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਲਿ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹਮ ਮੂੜ ਪਾਪੀ ਜਿਤੁ ਲਗਿ ਤਰਾ ॥
गुरदेव संगति प्रभ मेलि करि किरपा हम मूड़ पापी जितु लगि तरा ॥
Gurḋév sangaṫ parabʰ mél kar kirpaa ham mooṛ paapee jiṫ lag ṫaraa.
O God, please be merciful to me, so that I may be with the Divine Guru; I am a foolish sinner, but holding onto Him, I will be carried across.

ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਨਮਸਕਰਾ ॥੧॥
गुरदेव सतिगुरु पारब्रहमु परमेसरु गुरदेव नानक हरि नमसकरा ॥१॥
Gurḋév saṫgur paarbarahm parmésar gurḋév Naanak har namaskaraa. ||1||
The Divine Guru is the True Guru, the Supreme Lord God, the Transcendent Lord; Nanak bows in humble reverence to the Lord, the Divine Guru. ||1||

Simra▫o simar simar sukʰ paava▫o.
Meditate, meditate, meditate in remembrance of Him, and find peace.

ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਤਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਮਿਟਾਵਉ ॥
कलि कलेस तन माहि मिटावउ ॥
Kal kalés ṫan maahi mitaava▫o.
Worry and anguish shall be dispelled from your body.
|
ਸਿਮਰਉ ਜਾਸੁ ਬਿਸੁੰਭਰ ਏਕੈ ॥
सिमरउ जासु बिसु्मभर एकै ॥
Simra▫o jaas bisumbʰar ékæ.
Remember in praise the One who pervades the whole Universe.

ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਅਗਨਤ ਅਨੇਕੈ ॥
नामु जपत अगनत अनेकै ॥
Naam japaṫ agnaṫ anékæ.
His Name is chanted by countless people, in so many ways.

ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸੁਧਾਖੵਰ ॥
बेद पुरान सिंम्रिति सुधाख्यर ॥
Béḋ puraan simriṫ suḋʰaakʰ▫yar.
The Vedas, the Puranas and the Smritis, the purest of utterances,
|
ਕੀਨੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਇਕ ਆਖੵਰ ॥
कीने राम नाम इक आख्यर ॥
Keené raam naam ik aakʰ▫yar.
were created from the One Word of the Name of the Lord.
|
ਕਿਨਕਾ ਏਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਜੀਅ ਬਸਾਵੈ ॥
किनका एक जिसु जीअ बसावै ॥
Kinkaa ék jis jee▫a basaavæ.
That one, in whose soul the One Lord dwells -
|
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਗਨੀ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
ता की महिमा गनी न आवै ॥
Ṫaa kee mahimaa ganee na aavæ.
the praises of his glory cannot be recounted.
|
ਕਾਂਖੀ ਏਕੈ ਦਰਸ ਤੁਹਾਰੋ ॥
कांखी एकै दरस तुहारो ॥
Kaaⁿkʰee ékæ ḋaras ṫuhaaro.
Those who yearn only for the blessing of Your Darshan -

ਨਾਨਕ ਉਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਉਧਾਰੋ ॥੧॥
नानक उन संगि मोहि उधारो ॥१॥
Naanak un sang mohi uḋʰaaro. ||1||
Nanak: save me along with them! ||1||
|
ਸੁਖਮਨੀ ਸੁਖ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
सुखमनी सुख अमृत प्रभ नामु ॥
Sukʰmanee sukʰ amriṫ parabʰ naam.
Sukhmani: Peace of Mind, the Nectar of the Name of God.

ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
भगत जना कै मनि बिस्राम ॥ रहाउ ॥
Bʰagaṫ janaa kæ man bisraam. Rahaa▫o.
The minds of the devotees abide in a joyful peace. ||Pause||
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਗਰਭਿ ਨ ਬਸੈ ॥
प्रभ कै सिमरनि गरभि न बसै ॥
Parabʰ kæ simran garabʰ na basæ.
Remembering God, one does not have to enter into the womb again.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਜਮੁ ਨਸੈ ॥
प्रभ कै सिमरनि दूखु जमु नसै ॥
Parabʰ kæ simran ḋookʰ jam nasæ.
Remembering God, the pain of death is dispelled.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਕਾਲੁ ਪਰਹਰੈ ॥
प्रभ कै सिमरनि कालु परहरै ॥
Parabʰ kæ simran kaal par▫haræ.
Remembering God, death is eliminated.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਦੁਸਮਨੁ ਟਰੈ ॥
प्रभ कै सिमरनि दुसमनु टरै ॥
Parabʰ kæ simran ḋusman taræ.
Remembering God, one’s enemies are repelled.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਕਛੁ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
प्रभ सिमरत कछु बिघनु न लागै ॥
Parabʰ simraṫ kachʰ bigʰan na laagæ.
Remembering God, no obstacles are met.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਾਗੈ ॥
प्रभ कै सिमरनि अनदिनु जागै ॥
Parabʰ kæ simran an▫ḋin jaagæ.
Remembering God, one remains awake and aware, night and day.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਭਉ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ॥
प्रभ कै सिमरनि भउ न बिआपै ॥
Parabʰ kæ simran bʰa▫o na bi▫aapæ.
Remembering God, one is not touched by fear.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਸੰਤਾਪੈ ॥
प्रभ कै सिमरनि दुखु न संतापै ॥
Parabʰ kæ simran ḋukʰ na sanṫaapæ.
Remembering God, one does not suffer sorrow.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
प्रभ का सिमरनु साध कै संगि ॥
Parabʰ kaa simran saaḋʰ kæ sang.
The meditative remembrance of God is in the Company of the Holy.
|
ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੨॥
सरब निधान नानक हरि रंगि ॥२॥
Sarab niḋʰaan Naanak har rang. ||2||
All treasures, O Nanak! Are in the Love of the Lord. ||2||
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਰਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ॥
प्रभ कै सिमरनि रिधि सिधि नउ निधि ॥
Parabʰ kæ simran riḋʰ siḋʰ na▫o niḋʰ.
In the remembrance of God are wealth, miraculous spiritual powers and the nine treasures.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਤਤੁ ਬੁਧਿ ॥
प्रभ कै सिमरनि गिआनु धिआनु ततु बुधि ॥
Parabʰ kæ simran gi▫aan ḋʰi▫aan ṫaṫ buḋʰ.
In the remembrance of God are knowledge, meditation and the essence of wisdom.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਪੂਜਾ ॥
प्रभ कै सिमरनि जप तप पूजा ॥
Parabʰ kæ simran jap ṫap poojaa.
In the remembrance of God are chanting, intense meditation and devotional worship.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਦੂਜਾ ॥
प्रभ कै सिमरनि बिनसै दूजा ॥
Parabʰ kæ simran binsæ ḋoojaa.
In the remembrance of God, duality is removed.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਇਸਨਾਨੀ ॥
प्रभ कै सिमरनि तीरथ इसनानी ॥
Parabʰ kæ simran ṫiraṫʰ isnaanee.
In the remembrance of God are purifying baths at sacred shrines of pilgrimage.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਮਾਨੀ ॥
प्रभ कै सिमरनि दरगह मानी ॥
Parabʰ kæ simran ḋargėh maanee.
In the remembrance of God, one attains honor in the Court of the Lord.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਭਲਾ ॥
प्रभ कै सिमरनि होइ सु भला ॥
Parabʰ kæ simran ho▫é so bʰalaa.
In the remembrance of God, one becomes good.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਸੁਫਲ ਫਲਾ ॥
प्रभ कै सिमरनि सुफल फला ॥
Parabʰ kæ simran sufal falaa.
In the remembrance of God, one flowers in fruition.
|
ਸੇ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਜਿਨ ਆਪਿ ਸਿਮਰਾਏ ॥
से सिमरहि जिन आपि सिमराए ॥
Sé simrahi jin aap simraa▫é.
They alone remember Him in meditation, whom He inspires to meditate.
