नानक ता कै लागउ पाए ॥३॥
Nānak ṯā kai lāga▫o pā▫e. ||3||
Nanak grasps the feet of those humble beings. ||3||

प्रभ का सिमरनु सभ ते ऊचा ॥
Parabẖ kā simran sabẖ ṯe ūcẖā.
The remembrance of God is the highest and most exalted of all.

प्रभ कै सिमरनि उधरे मूचा ॥
Parabẖ kai simran uḏẖre mūcẖā.
In the remembrance of God, many are saved.

प्रभ कै सिमरनि त्रिसना बुझै ॥
Parabẖ kai simran ṯarisnā bujẖai.
In the remembrance of God, thirst is quenched.

प्रभ कै सिमरनि सभु किछु सुझै ॥
Parabẖ kai simran sabẖ kicẖẖ sujẖai.
In the remembrance of God, all things are known.

प्रभ कै सिमरनि नाही जम त्रासा ॥
Parabẖ kai simran nāhī jam ṯarāsā.
In the remembrance of God, there is no fear of death.

प्रभ कै सिमरनि पूरन आसा ॥
Parabẖ kai simran pūran āsā.
In the remembrance of God, hopes are fulfilled.

प्रभ कै सिमरनि मन की मलु जाइ ॥
Parabẖ kai simran man kī mal jā▫e.
In the remembrance of God, the filth of the mind is removed.

अम्रित नामु रिद माहि समाइ ॥
Amriṯ nām riḏ māhi samā▫e.
The Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord, is absorbed into the heart.

प्रभ जी बसहि साध की रसना ॥
Parabẖ jī basėh sāḏẖ kī rasnā.
God abides upon the tongues of His Saints.

नानक जन का दासनि दसना ॥४॥
Nānak jan kā ḏāsan ḏasnā. ||4||
Nanak is the servant of the slave of His slaves. ||4||

प्रभ कउ सिमरहि से धनवंते ॥
Parabẖ ka▫o simrahi se ḏẖanvanṯe.
Those who remember God are wealthy.

प्रभ कउ सिमरहि से पतिवंते ॥
Parabẖ ka▫o simrahi se paṯivanṯe.
Those who remember God are honorable.

प्रभ कउ सिमरहि से जन परवान ॥
Parabẖ ka▫o simrahi se jan parvān.
Those who remember God are approved.

प्रभ कउ सिमरहि से पुरख प्रधान ॥
Parabẖ ka▫o simrahi se purakẖ parḏẖān.
Those who remember God are the most distinguished persons.

प्रभ कउ सिमरहि सि बेमुहताजे ॥
Parabẖ ka▫o simrahi sė bemuhṯāje.
Those who remember God are not lacking.

प्रभ कउ सिमरहि सि सरब के राजे ॥
Parabẖ ka▫o simrahi sė sarab ke rāje.
Those who remember God are the rulers of all.

प्रभ कउ सिमरहि से सुखवासी ॥
Parabẖ ka▫o simrahi se sukẖvāsī.
Those who remember God dwell in peace.

प्रभ कउ सिमरहि सदा अबिनासी ॥
Parabẖ ka▫o simrahi saḏā abẖināsī.
Those who remember God are immortal and eternal.

सिमरन ते लागे जिन आपि दइआला ॥
Simran ṯe lāge jin āp ḏa▫i▫ālā.
They alone hold to the remembrance of Him, unto whom He Himself shows His Mercy.

नानक जन की मंगै रवाला ॥५॥
Nānak jan kī mangai ravālā. ||5||
Nanak begs for the dust of their feet. ||5||

प्रभ कउ सिमरहि से परउपकारी ॥
Parabẖ ka▫o simrahi se par▫upkārī.
Those who remember God generously help others.

प्रभ कउ सिमरहि तिन सद बलिहारी ॥
Parabẖ ka▫o simrahi ṯin saḏ balihārī.
Those who remember God - to them, I am forever a sacrifice.

प्रभ कउ सिमरहि से मुख सुहावे ॥
Parabẖ ka▫o simrahi se mukẖ suhāve.
Those who remember God - their faces are beautiful.

प्रभ कउ सिमरहि तिन सूखि बिहावै ॥
Parabẖ ka▫o simrahi ṯin sūkẖ bihāvai.
Those who remember God abide in peace.

प्रभ कउ सिमरहि तिन आतमु जीता ॥
Parabẖ ka▫o simrahi ṯin āṯam jīṯā.
Those who remember God conquer their souls.

प्रभ कउ सिमरहि तिन निरमल रीता ॥
Parabẖ ka▫o simrahi ṯin nirmal rīṯā.
Those who remember God have a pure and spotless lifestyle.

प्रभ कउ सिमरहि तिन अनद घनेरे ॥
Parabẖ ka▫o simrahi ṯin anaḏ gẖanere.
Those who remember God experience all sorts of joys.

प्रभ कउ सिमरहि बसहि हरि नेरे ॥
Parabẖ ka▫o simrahi basėh har nere.
Those who remember God abide near the Lord.

संत क्रिपा ते अनदिनु जागि ॥
Sanṯ kirpā ṯe an▫ḏin jāg.
By the Grace of the Saints, one remains awake and aware, night and day.

नानक सिमरनु पूरै भागि ॥६॥
Nānak simran pūrai bẖāg. ||6||
O Nanak, this meditative remembrance comes only by perfect destiny. ||6||

प्रभ कै सिमरनि कारज पूरे ॥
Parabẖ kai simran kāraj pūre.
Remembering God, one's works are accomplished.

प्रभ कै सिमरनि कबहु न झूरे ॥
Parabẖ kai simran kabahu na jẖūre.
Remembering God, one never grieves.

प्रभ कै सिमरनि हरि गुन बानी ॥
Parabẖ kai simran har gun bānī.
Remembering God, one speaks the Glorious Praises of the Lord.

प्रभ कै सिमरनि सहजि समानी ॥
Parabẖ kai simran sahj samānī.
Remembering God, one is absorbed into the state of intuitive ease.

प्रभ कै सिमरनि निहचल आसनु ॥
Parabẖ kai simran nihcẖal āsan.
Remembering God, one attains the unchanging position.

प्रभ कै सिमरनि कमल बिगासनु ॥
Parabẖ kai simran kamal bigāsan.
Remembering God, the heart-lotus blossoms forth.

प्रभ कै सिमरनि अनहद झुनकार ॥
Parabẖ kai simran anhaḏ jẖunkār.
Remembering God, the unstruck melody vibrates.

सुखु प्रभ सिमरन का अंतु न पार ॥
Sukẖ parabẖ simran kā anṯ na pār.
The peace of the meditative remembrance of God has no end or limitation.

सिमरहि से जन जिन कउ प्रभ मइआ ॥
Simrahi se jan jin ka▫o parabẖ ma▫i▫ā.
They alone remember Him, upon whom God bestows His Grace.

नानक तिन जन सरनी पइआ ॥७॥
Nānak ṯin jan sarnī pa▫i▫ā. ||7||
Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of those humble beings. ||7||

हरि सिमरनु करि भगत प्रगटाए ॥
Har simran kar bẖagaṯ pargatā▫e.
Remembering the Lord, His devotees are famous and radiant.

हरि सिमरनि लगि बेद उपाए ॥
Har simran lag beḏ upā▫e.
Remembering the Lord, the Vedas were composed.

हरि सिमरनि भए सिध जती दाते ॥
Har simran bẖa▫e siḏẖ jaṯī ḏāṯe.
Remembering the Lord, we become Siddhas, celibates and givers.

हरि सिमरनि नीच चहु कुंट जाते ॥
Har simran nīcẖ cẖahu kunt jāṯe.
Remembering the Lord, the lowly become known in all four directions.

हरि सिमरनि धारी सभ धरना ॥
Har simran ḏẖārī sabẖ ḏẖarnā.
For the remembrance of the Lord, the whole world was established.

सिमरि सिमरि हरि कारन करना ॥
Simar simar har kāran karnā.
Remember, remember in meditation the Lord, the Creator, the Cause of causes.

हरि सिमरनि कीओ सगल अकारा ॥
Har simran kī▫o sagal akārā.
For the remembrance of the Lord, He created the whole creation.

हरि सिमरन महि आपि निरंकारा ॥
Har simran mėh āp nirankārā.
In the remembrance of the Lord, He Himself is Formless.

करि किरपा जिसु आपि बुझाइआ ॥
Kar kirpā jis āp bujẖā▫i▫ā.
By His Grace, He Himself bestows understanding.

नानक गुरमुखि हरि सिमरनु तिनि पाइआ ॥८॥१॥
Nānak gurmukẖ har simran ṯin pā▫i▫ā. ||8||1||
O Nanak, the Gurmukh attains the remembrance of the Lord. ||8||1||

Shalok:

दीन दरद दुख भंजना घटि घटि नाथ अनाथ ॥
Ḏīn ḏaraḏ ḏukẖ bẖanjnā gẖat gẖat nāth anāth.
O Destroyer of the pains and the suffering of the poor, O Master of each and every heart, O Masterless One:

सरणि तुम्हारी आइओ नानक के प्रभ साथ ॥१॥
Saraṇ ṯumĥārī ā▫i▫o Nānak ke parabẖ sāth. ||1||
I have come seeking Your Sanctuary. O God, please be with Nanak! ||1||
