ਕਉਨੁ ਮਰੈ ਕੋ ਦੇਇ ਸੰਤਾਪੋ ॥੧॥
कउनु मरै को देइ संतापो ॥१॥
Ka▫un maræ ko ḋé▫é sanṫaapo. ||1||
Who dies? Who inflicts pain? ||1||
|
ਹਰਿ ਠਗ ਜਗ ਕਉ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਲਾਈ ॥
हरि ठग जग कउ ठगउरी लाई ॥
Har tʰag jag ka▫o tʰag▫uree laa▫ee.
The Lord is the thug, who has drugged and robbed the whole world.

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਬਿਓਗ ਕੈਸੇ ਜੀਅਉ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
हरि के बिओग कैसे जीअउ मेरी माई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Har ké bi▫og kæsé jee▫a▫o méree maa▫ee. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
I am separated from the Lord; how can I survive, O my mother? ||1||Pause||

ਕਉਨ ਕੋ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਕਉਨ ਕੀ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
कउन को पुरखु कउन की नारी ॥
Ka▫un ko purakʰ ka▫un kee naaree.
Whose husband is he? Whose wife is she?
|
ਇਆ ਤਤ ਲੇਹੁ ਸਰੀਰ ਬਿਚਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
इआ तत लेहु सरीर बिचारी ॥२॥
I▫aa ṫaṫ lého sareer bichaaree. ||2||
Contemplate this reality within your body. ||2||
|
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਠਗ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥
कहि कबीर ठग सिउ मनु मानिआ ॥
Kahi Kabeer tʰag si▫o man maani▫aa.
Says Kabir, my mind is pleased and satisfied with the thug.

ਗਈ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਠਗੁ ਪਹਿਚਾਨਿਆ ॥੩॥੩੯॥
गई ठगउरी ठगु पहिचानिआ ॥३॥३९॥
Ga▫ee tʰag▫uree tʰag pėhchaani▫aa. ||3||39||
The effects of the drug have vanished, since I recognized the thug. ||3||39||
|
ਅਬ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਭਏ ਰਾਜਾ ਰਾਮ ਸਹਾਈ ॥
अब मो कउ भए राजा राम सहाई ॥
Ab mo ka▫o bʰa▫é raajaa raam sahaa▫ee.
Now, the Lord, my King, has become my help and support.

ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਕਟਿ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जनम मरन कटि परम गति पाई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Janam maran kat param gaṫ paa▫ee. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
I have cut away birth and death, and attained the supreme-status. ||1||Pause||
|
ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀਓ ਰਲਾਇ ॥
साधू संगति दीओ रलाइ ॥
Saaḋʰoo sangaṫ ḋee▫o ralaa▫é.
He has united me with the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.

ਪੰਚ ਦੂਤ ਤੇ ਲੀਓ ਛਡਾਇ ॥
पंच दूत ते लीओ छडाइ ॥
Panch ḋooṫ ṫé lee▫o chʰadaa▫é.
He has rescued me from the five demons.

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਉ ਜਪੁ ਰਸਨਾ ॥
अमृत नामु जपउ जपु रसना ॥
Amriṫ naam japa▫o jap rasnaa.
I chant with my tongue and meditate on the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord.

ਅਮੋਲ ਦਾਸੁ ਕਰਿ ਲੀਨੋ ਅਪਨਾ ॥੧॥
अमोल दासु करि लीनो अपना ॥१॥
Amol ḋaas kar leeno apnaa. ||1||
He has made me his own slave. ||1||
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀਨੋ ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੁ ॥
सतिगुर कीनो परउपकारु ॥
Saṫgur keeno par▫upkaar.
The True Guru has blessed me with His generosity.
|
ਕਾਢਿ ਲੀਨ ਸਾਗਰ ਸੰਸਾਰ ॥
काढि लीन सागर संसार ॥
Kaadʰ leen saagar sansaar.
He has lifted me up, out of the world-ocean.
|
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥
चरन कमल सिउ लागी प्रीति ॥
Charan kamal si▫o laagee pareeṫ.
I have fallen in love with His Lotus Feet.
|
ਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ ਬਸੈ ਨਿਤਾ ਨਿਤ ਚੀਤ ॥੨॥
गोबिंदु बसै निता नित चीत ॥२॥
Gobinḋ basæ niṫaa niṫ cheeṫ. ||2||
The Lord of the Universe dwells continually within my consciousness. ||2||
|
ਮਾਇਆ ਤਪਤਿ ਬੁਝਿਆ ਅੰਗਿਆਰੁ ॥
माइआ तपति बुझिआ अंगिआरु ॥
Maa▫i▫aa ṫapaṫ bujʰi▫aa angi▫aar.
The burning fire of Maya has been extinguished.
|
ਮਨਿ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥
मनि संतोखु नामु आधारु ॥
Man sanṫokʰ naam aaḋʰaar.
My mind is contented with the Support of the Naam.
|
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
जलि थलि पूरि रहे प्रभ सुआमी ॥
Jal ṫʰal poor rahé parabʰ su▫aamee.
God, the Lord and Master, is totally permeating the water and the land.
|
ਜਤ ਪੇਖਉ ਤਤ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥੩॥
जत पेखउ तत अंतरजामी ॥३॥
Jaṫ pékʰa▫o ṫaṫ anṫarjaamee. ||3||
Wherever I look, there is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||3||
|
ਅਪਨੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਈ ॥
अपनी भगति आप ही द्रिड़ाई ॥
Apnee bʰagaṫ aap hee ḋariṛaa▫ee.
He Himself has implanted His devotional worship within me.

ਪੂਰਬ ਲਿਖਤੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥
पूरब लिखतु मिलिआ मेरे भाई ॥
Poorab likʰaṫ mili▫aa méré bʰaa▫ee.
By preordained destiny, one meets Him, O my Siblings of Destiny.

ਜਿਸੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਾਜ ॥
जिसु क्रिपा करे तिसु पूरन साज ॥
Jis kirpaa karé ṫis pooran saaj.
When He grants His Grace, one is perfectly fulfilled.

ਕਬੀਰ ਕੋ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਗਰੀਬ ਨਿਵਾਜ ॥੪॥੪੦॥
कबीर को सुआमी गरीब निवाज ॥४॥४०॥
Kabeer ko su▫aamee gareeb nivaaj. ||4||40||
Kabir’s Lord and Master is the Cherisher of the poor. ||4||40||

ਜਲਿ ਹੈ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਥਲਿ ਹੈ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਸੂਤਕ ਓਪਤਿ ਹੋਈ ॥
जलि है सूतकु थलि है सूतकु सूतक ओपति होई ॥
Jal hæ sooṫak ṫʰal hæ sooṫak sooṫak opaṫ ho▫ee.
There is pollution in the water, and pollution on the land; whatever is born is polluted.

ਜਨਮੇ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਮੂਏ ਫੁਨਿ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਸੂਤਕ ਪਰਜ ਬਿਗੋਈ ॥੧॥
जनमे सूतकु मूए फुनि सूतकु सूतक परज बिगोई ॥१॥
Janmé sooṫak moo▫é fun sooṫak sooṫak paraj bigo▫ee. ||1||
There is pollution in birth, and more pollution in death; all beings are ruined by pollution. ||1||
|
ਕਹੁ ਰੇ ਪੰਡੀਆ ਕਉਨ ਪਵੀਤਾ ॥
कहु रे पंडीआ कउन पवीता ॥
Kaho ré pandee▫aa ka▫un paveeṫaa.
Tell me, O Pandit, O religious scholar: who is clean and pure?

ਐਸਾ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੀਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ऐसा गिआनु जपहु मेरे मीता ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Æsaa gi▫aan japahu méré meeṫaa. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Meditate on such spiritual wisdom, O my friend. ||1||Pause||
|
ਨੈਨਹੁ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਬੈਨਹੁ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਸ੍ਰਵਨੀ ਹੋਈ ॥
नैनहु सूतकु बैनहु सूतकु सूतकु स्रवनी होई ॥
Nænhu sooṫak bænhu sooṫak sooṫak sarvanee ho▫ee.
There is pollution in the eyes, and pollution in speech; there is pollution in the ears as well.

ਊਠਤ ਬੈਠਤ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਪਰੈ ਰਸੋਈ ॥੨॥
ऊठत बैठत सूतकु लागै सूतकु परै रसोई ॥२॥
Ootʰaṫ bætʰaṫ sooṫak laagæ sooṫak paræ raso▫ee. ||2||
Standing up and sitting down, one is polluted; one’s kitchen is polluted as well. ||2||
|
ਫਾਸਨ ਕੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਊ ਜਾਨੈ ਛੂਟਨ ਕੀ ਇਕੁ ਕੋਈ ॥
फासन की बिधि सभु कोऊ जानै छूटन की इकु कोई ॥
Faasan kee biḋʰ sabʰ ko▫oo jaanæ chʰootan kee ik ko▫ee.
Everyone knows how to be caught, but hardly anyone knows how to escape.
|
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਬਿਚਾਰੈ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਤਿਨੈ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੩॥੪੧॥
कहि कबीर रामु रिदै बिचारै सूतकु तिनै न होई ॥३॥४१॥
Kahi Kabeer raam riḋæ bichaaræ sooṫak ṫinæ na ho▫ee. ||3||41||
Says Kabir, those who meditate on the Lord within their hearts, are not polluted. ||3||41||

ਝਗਰਾ ਏਕੁ ਨਿਬੇਰਹੁ ਰਾਮ ॥
झगरा एकु निबेरहु राम ॥
Jʰagraa ék nibérahu raam.
Resolve this one conflict for me, O Lord,
|
ਜਉ ਤੁਮ ਅਪਨੇ ਜਨ ਸੌ ਕਾਮੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जउ तुम अपने जन सौ कामु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ja▫o ṫum apné jan sou kaam. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
if you require any work from Your humble servant. ||1||Pause||
|
ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਬਡਾ ਕਿ ਜਾ ਸਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥
इहु मनु बडा कि जा सउ मनु मानिआ ॥
Ih man badaa kė jaa sa▫o man maani▫aa.
Is this mind greater, or the One to whom the mind is attuned?

ਰਾਮੁ ਬਡਾ ਕੈ ਰਾਮਹਿ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥੧॥
रामु बडा कै रामहि जानिआ ॥१॥
Raam badaa kæ raamėh jaani▫aa. ||1||
Is the Lord greater, or one who knows the Lord? ||1||
|
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਬਡਾ ਕਿ ਜਾਸੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥
ब्रहमा बडा कि जासु उपाइआ ॥
Barahmaa badaa kė jaas upaa▫i▫aa.
Is Brahma greater, or the One who created Him?

ਬੇਦੁ ਬਡਾ ਕਿ ਜਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਆਇਆ ॥੨॥
बेदु बडा कि जहां ते आइआ ॥२॥
Béḋ badaa kė jahaaⁿ ṫé aa▫i▫aa. ||2||
Are the Vedas greater, or the One from which they came? ||2||
|
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਹਉ ਭਇਆ ਉਦਾਸੁ ॥
कहि कबीर हउ भइआ उदासु ॥
Kahi Kabeer ha▫o bʰa▫i▫aa uḋaas.
Says Kabir, I have become depressed;

ਤੀਰਥੁ ਬਡਾ ਕਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਦਾਸੁ ॥੩॥੪੨॥
तीरथु बडा कि हरि का दासु ॥३॥४२॥
Ṫiraṫʰ badaa kė har kaa ḋaas. ||3||42||
is the sacred shrine of pilgrimage greater, or the slave of the Lord? ||3||42||

ਰਾਗੁ ਗਉੜੀ ਚੇਤੀ ॥
रागु गउड़ी चेती ॥
Raag ga▫oṛee chéṫee.

ਦੇਖੌ ਭਾਈ ਗੵਾਨ ਕੀ ਆਈ ਆਂਧੀ ॥
देखौ भाई ग्यान की आई आंधी ॥
Ḋékʰou bʰaa▫ee ga▫yaan kee aa▫ee aaⁿḋʰee.
Behold, O Siblings of Destiny, the storm of spiritual wisdom has come.

ਸਭੈ ਉਡਾਨੀ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਕੀ ਟਾਟੀ ਰਹੈ ਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਬਾਂਧੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सभै उडानी भ्रम की टाटी रहै न माइआ बांधी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sabʰæ udaanee bʰaram kee taatee rahæ na maa▫i▫aa baaⁿḋʰee. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
It has totally blown away the thatched huts of doubt, and torn apart the bonds of Maya. ||1||Pause||

ਦੁਚਿਤੇ ਕੀ ਦੁਇ ਥੂਨਿ ਗਿਰਾਨੀ ਮੋਹ ਬਲੇਡਾ ਟੂਟਾ ॥
दुचिते की दुइ थूनि गिरानी मोह बलेडा टूटा ॥
Ḋuchiṫé kee ḋu▫é ṫʰoon giraanee moh balédaa tootaa.
The two pillars of double-mindedness have fallen, and the beams of emotional attachment have come crashing down.

ਤਿਸਨਾ ਛਾਨਿ ਪਰੀ ਧਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਭਾਂਡਾ ਫੂਟਾ ॥੧॥
तिसना छानि परी धर ऊपरि दुरमति भांडा फूटा ॥१॥
Ṫisnaa chʰaan paree ḋʰar oopar ḋurmaṫ bʰaaⁿdaa footaa. ||1||
The thatched roof of greed has caved in, and the pitcher of evil-mindedness has been broken. ||1||
|
ਆਂਧੀ ਪਾਛੇ ਜੋ ਜਲੁ ਬਰਖੈ ਤਿਹਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਜਨੁ ਭੀਨਾਂ ॥
आंधी पाछे जो जलु बरखै तिहि तेरा जनु भीनां ॥
Aaⁿḋʰee paachʰé jo jal barkʰæ ṫihi ṫéraa jan bʰeenaaⁿ.
Your servant is drenched with the rain that has fallen in this storm.
