Soratʰ mėhlaa 3.
Sorat’h, Third Mehl:

ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਸਬਦੇ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਭਾਈ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
हरि जीउ सबदे जापदा भाई पूरै भागि मिलाइ ॥
Har jee▫o sabḋé jaapḋaa bʰaa▫ee pooræ bʰaag milaa▫é.
The Dear Lord is realized through the Word of His Shabad, O Siblings of Destiny, which is found only by perfect destiny.

ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਭਾਈ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਰਤੀਆ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਇ ॥੧॥
सदा सुखु सोहागणी भाई अनदिनु रतीआ रंगु लाइ ॥१॥
Saḋaa sukʰ sohaagaṇee bʰaa▫ee an▫ḋin raṫee▫aa rang laa▫é. ||1||
The happy soul-brides are forever in peace, O Siblings of Destiny; night and day, they are attuned to the Lord’s Love. ||1||
|
ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਰੰਗੁ ਚੜਾਇ ॥
हरि जी तू आपे रंगु चड़ाइ ॥
Har jee ṫoo aapé rang chaṛaa▫é.
O Dear Lord, You Yourself color us in Your Love.

ਗਾਵਹੁ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਿਹੋ ਭਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
गावहु गावहु रंगि रातिहो भाई हरि सेती रंगु लाइ ॥ रहाउ ॥
Gaavhu gaavhu rang raaṫiho bʰaa▫ee har séṫee rang laa▫é. Rahaa▫o.
Sing, continually sing His Praises, imbued with His Love, O Siblings of Destiny; be in love with the Lord. ||Pause||

ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵਣੀ ਭਾਈ ਆਪੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥
गुर की कार कमावणी भाई आपु छोडि चितु लाइ ॥
Gur kee kaar kamaavṇee bʰaa▫ee aap chʰod chiṫ laa▫é.
Work to serve the Guru, O Siblings of Destiny; abandon self-conceit, and focus your consciousness.

ਸਦਾ ਸਹਜੁ ਫਿਰਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਲਗਈ ਭਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੨॥
सदा सहजु फिरि दुखु न लगई भाई हरि आपि वसै मनि आइ ॥२॥
Saḋaa sahj fir ḋukʰ na lag▫ee bʰaa▫ee har aap vasæ man aa▫é. ||2||
You shall be in peace forever, and you shall not suffer with pain any longer, O Siblings of Destiny; the Lord Himself shall come and abide in your mind. ||2||
|
ਪਿਰ ਕਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਈ ਭਾਈ ਸਾ ਕੁਲਖਣੀ ਕੁਨਾਰਿ ॥
पिर का हुकमु न जाणई भाई सा कुलखणी कुनारि ॥
Pir kaa hukam na jaaṇ▫ee bʰaa▫ee saa kulkʰaṇee kunaar.
She who does not know the Will of her Husband Lord, O Siblings of Destiny, is an ill-mannered and bitter bride.

ਮਨਹਠਿ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵਣੀ ਭਾਈ ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਕੂੜਿਆਰਿ ॥੩॥
मनहठि कार कमावणी भाई विणु नावै कूड़िआरि ॥३॥
Manhatʰ kaar kamaavṇee bʰaa▫ee viṇ naavæ kooṛi▫aar. ||3||
She does things with a stubborn mind, O Siblings of Destiny; without the Name, she is false. ||3||
|
ਸੇ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਜਿਨ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗੁ ਹੈ ਭਾਈ ਭਾਇ ਸਚੈ ਬੈਰਾਗੁ ॥
से गावहि जिन मसतकि भागु है भाई भाइ सचै बैरागु ॥
Sé gaavahi jin masṫak bʰaag hæ bʰaa▫ee bʰaa▫é sachæ bæraag.
They alone sing the Lord’s Praises, who have such preordained destiny written upon their foreheads, O Siblings of Destiny; through the Love of the True Lord, they find detachment.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੇ ਗੁਣ ਰਵਹਿ ਭਾਈ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਗੁਰ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੁ ॥੪॥
अनदिनु राते गुण रवहि भाई निरभउ गुर लिव लागु ॥४॥
An▫ḋin raaṫé guṇ ravėh bʰaa▫ee nirbʰa▫o gur liv laag. ||4||
Night and day, they are imbued with His Love; they utter His Glorious Praises, O Siblings of Destiny, and they lovingly focus their consciousness on the Fearless Guru. ||4||
|
ਸਭਨਾ ਮਾਰਿ ਜੀਵਾਲਦਾ ਭਾਈ ਸੋ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ ॥
सभना मारि जीवालदा भाई सो सेवहु दिनु राति ॥
Sabʰnaa maar jeevaalḋaa bʰaa▫ee so sévhu ḋin raaṫ.
He kills and revives all, O Siblings of Destiny; serve Him, day and night.
|
ਸੋ ਕਿਉ ਮਨਹੁ ਵਿਸਾਰੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਵਡੀ ਹੈ ਦਾਤਿ ॥੫॥
सो किउ मनहु विसारीऐ भाई जिस दी वडी है दाति ॥५॥
So ki▫o manhu visaaree▫æ bʰaa▫ee jis ḋee vadee hæ ḋaaṫ. ||5||
How can we forget Him from our minds, O Siblings of Destiny? His gifts are glorious and great. ||5||
|
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਮੈਲੀ ਡੁੰਮਣੀ ਭਾਈ ਦਰਗਹ ਨਾਹੀ ਥਾਉ ॥
मनमुखि मैली डुंमणी भाई दरगह नाही थाउ ॥
Manmukʰ mælee dummṇee bʰaa▫ee ḋargėh naahee ṫʰaa▫o.
The self-willed Manmukh is filthy and double-minded, O Siblings of Destiny; the finds no place of rest in the Court of the Lord.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਤ ਗੁਣ ਰਵੈ ਭਾਈ ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸਾਚਿ ਸਮਾਉ ॥੬॥
गुरमुखि होवै त गुण रवै भाई मिलि प्रीतम साचि समाउ ॥६॥
Gurmukʰ hovæ ṫa guṇ ravæ bʰaa▫ee mil pareeṫam saach samaa▫o. ||6||
But if she becomes Gurmukh, then she chants the Glorious Praises of the Lord, O Siblings of Destiny; she meets her True Beloved, and merges in Him. ||6||
|
ਏਤੁ ਜਨਮਿ ਹਰਿ ਨ ਚੇਤਿਓ ਭਾਈ ਕਿਆ ਮੁਹੁ ਦੇਸੀ ਜਾਇ ॥
एतु जनमि हरि न चेतिओ भाई किआ मुहु देसी जाइ ॥
Éṫ janam har na chéṫi▫o bʰaa▫ee ki▫aa muhu ḋésee jaa▫é.
In this life, she has not focused her consciousness on the Lord, O Siblings of Destiny; how can she show her face when she leaves?

ਕਿੜੀ ਪਵੰਦੀ ਮੁਹਾਇਓਨੁ ਭਾਈ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਨੋ ਲੋਭਾਇ ॥੭॥
किड़ी पवंदी मुहाइओनु भाई बिखिआ नो लोभाइ ॥७॥
Kiṛee pavanḋee muhaa▫i▫on bʰaa▫ee bikʰi▫aa no lobʰaa▫é. ||7||
In spite of the warning calls which were sounded, she has been plundered, O Siblings of Destiny; she yearned only for corruption. ||7||

ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲਹਿ ਸੁਖਿ ਵਸਹਿ ਭਾਈ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਰੀਰ ॥
नामु समालहि सुखि वसहि भाई सदा सुखु सांति सरीर ॥
Naam samaalėh sukʰ vasėh bʰaa▫ee saḋaa sukʰ saaⁿṫ sareer.
Those who dwell upon the Naam, O Siblings of Destiny, their bodies are ever peaceful and tranquil.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲਿ ਤੂ ਭਾਈ ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਗੁਣੀ ਗਹੀਰ ॥੮॥੩॥
नानक नामु समालि तू भाई अपर्मपर गुणी गहीर ॥८॥३॥
Naanak naam samaal ṫoo bʰaa▫ee aprampar guṇee gaheer. ||8||3||
O Nanak! Dwell upon the Naam; the Lord is infinite, virtuous and unfathomable, O Siblings of Destiny. ||8||3||

Soratʰ mėhlaa 5 gʰar 1 asatpaḋee▫aa
Sorat’h, Fifth Mehl, First House, Ashtapadees:

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaⁿkaar saṫgur parsaaḋ.
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਜਿਨਹਿ ਉਪਾਇਆ ਭਾਈ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥੁ ॥
सभु जगु जिनहि उपाइआ भाई करण कारण समरथु ॥
Sabʰ jag jinėh upaa▫i▫aa bʰaa▫ee karaṇ kaaraṇ samraṫʰ.
The One who created the whole world, O Siblings of Destiny, is the Almighty Lord, the Cause of all causes.

ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਾਜਿਆ ਭਾਈ ਦੇ ਕਰਿ ਅਪਣੀ ਵਥੁ ॥
जीउ पिंडु जिनि साजिआ भाई दे करि अपणी वथु ॥
Jee▫o pind jin saaji▫aa bʰaa▫ee ḋé kar apṇee vaṫʰ.
He fashioned the soul and the body, O Siblings of Destiny, by His own power.

ਕਿਨਿ ਕਹੀਐ ਕਿਉ ਦੇਖੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਕਰਤਾ ਏਕੁ ਅਕਥੁ ॥
किनि कहीऐ किउ देखीऐ भाई करता एकु अकथु ॥
Kin kahee▫æ ki▫o ḋékʰee▫æ bʰaa▫ee karṫaa ék akaṫʰ.
How can He be described? How can He be seen, O Siblings of Destiny? The Creator is One; He is indescribable.

ਗੁਰੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਸਲਾਹੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਜਾਪੈ ਤਥੁ ॥੧॥
गुरु गोविंदु सलाहीऐ भाई जिस ते जापै तथु ॥१॥
Gur govinḋ salaahee▫æ bʰaa▫ee jis ṫé jaapæ ṫaṫʰ. ||1||
Praise the Guru, the Lord of the Universe, O Siblings of Destiny; through Him, the essence is known. ||1||
|
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਪੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਵੰਤਾ ॥
मेरे मन जपीऐ हरि भगवंता ॥
Méré man japee▫æ har bʰagvanṫaa.
O my mind! Meditate on the Lord, the Lord God.

ਨਾਮ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਇ ਜਨ ਅਪਨੇ ਦੂਖ ਦਰਦ ਕਾ ਹੰਤਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
नाम दानु देइ जन अपने दूख दरद का हंता ॥ रहाउ ॥
Naam ḋaan ḋé▫é jan apné ḋookʰ ḋaraḋ kaa hanṫaa. Rahaa▫o.
He blesses His servant with the gift of the Naam; He is the Destroyer of pain and suffering. ||Pause||
|
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੈ ਭਾਈ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥
जा कै घरि सभु किछु है भाई नउ निधि भरे भंडार ॥
Jaa kæ gʰar sabʰ kichʰ hæ bʰaa▫ee na▫o niḋʰ bʰaré bʰandaar.
Everything is in His home, O Siblings of Destiny; His warehouse is overflowing with the nine treasures.

ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਨਾ ਪਵੈ ਭਾਈ ਊਚਾ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
तिस की कीमति ना पवै भाई ऊचा अगम अपार ॥
Ṫis kee keemaṫ naa pavæ bʰaa▫ee oochaa agam apaar.
His worth cannot be estimated, O Siblings of Destiny; He is lofty, inaccessible and infinite.

ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਦਾ ਭਾਈ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਸਾਰ ॥
जीअ जंत प्रतिपालदा भाई नित नित करदा सार ॥
Jee▫a janṫ parṫipaalḋaa bʰaa▫ee niṫ niṫ karḋaa saar.
He cherishes all beings and creatures, O Siblings of Destiny; he continually takes care of them.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਭੇਟੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਹਾਰ ॥੨॥
सतिगुरु पूरा भेटीऐ भाई सबदि मिलावणहार ॥२॥
Saṫgur pooraa bʰétee▫æ bʰaa▫ee sabaḋ milaavaṇhaar. ||2||
So, meet with the Perfect True Guru, O Siblings of Destiny, and merge in the Word of the Shabad. ||2||
|
ਸਚੇ ਚਰਣ ਸਰੇਵੀਅਹਿ ਭਾਈ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਹੋਵੈ ਨਾਸੁ ॥
सचे चरण सरेवीअहि भाई भ्रमु भउ होवै नासु ॥
Saché charaṇ sarévee▫ah bʰaa▫ee bʰaram bʰa▫o hovæ naas.
Adoring the feet of the True Guru, O Siblings of Destiny, doubt and fear are dispelled.

ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਤ ਸਭਾ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਂਜੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥
मिलि संत सभा मनु मांजीऐ भाई हरि कै नामि निवासु ॥
Mil sanṫ sabʰaa man maaⁿjee▫æ bʰaa▫ee har kæ naam nivaas.
By joining the Society of the Saints, cleanse your mind, O Siblings of Destiny, and dwell in the Name of the Lord.

ਮਿਟੈ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਅਗਿਆਨਤਾ ਭਾਈ ਕਮਲ ਹੋਵੈ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ॥
मिटै अंधेरा अगिआनता भाई कमल होवै परगासु ॥
Mitæ anḋʰéraa agi▫aanṫaa bʰaa▫ee kamal hovæ pargaas.
The darkness of ignorance shall be dispelled, O Siblings of Destiny, and the lotus of your heart shall blossom forth.

ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਊਪਜੈ ਭਾਈ ਸਭਿ ਫਲ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ॥੩॥
गुर बचनी सुखु ऊपजै भाई सभि फल सतिगुर पासि ॥३॥
Gur bachnee sukʰ oopjæ bʰaa▫ee sabʰ fal saṫgur paas. ||3||
By the Guru’s Word, peace wells up, O Siblings of Destiny; all fruits are with the True Guru. ||3||
