ਨਿਹਚਲ ਆਸਨੁ ਬੇਸੁਮਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
निहचल आसनु बेसुमारु ॥२॥
Nihchal aasan bésumaar. ||2||
They obtain a permanent seat in the infinite. ||2||
|
ਡਿਗਿ ਨ ਡੋਲੈ ਕਤਹੂ ਨ ਧਾਵੈ ॥
डिगि न डोलै कतहू न धावै ॥
Dig na dolæ kaṫhoo na ḋʰaavæ.
No one falls there, or wavers, or goes anywhere.
|
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਕੋ ਇਹੁ ਮਹਲੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
गुर प्रसादि को इहु महलु पावै ॥
Gur parsaaḋ ko ih mahal paavæ.
By Guru’s Grace, some find this mansion.

ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੈ ਮੋਹ ਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਜਾਲ ॥
भ्रम भै मोह न माइआ जाल ॥
Bʰaram bʰæ moh na maa▫i▫aa jaal.
They are not touched by doubt, fear, attachment or the traps of Maya.

ਸੁੰਨ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥੩॥
सुंन समाधि प्रभू किरपाल ॥३॥
Sunn samaaḋʰ parabʰoo kirpaal. ||3||
They enter the deepest state of Samadhi, through the kind mercy of God. ||3||
|
ਤਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰੁ ॥
ता का अंतु न पारावारु ॥
Ṫaa kaa anṫ na paaraavaar.
He has no end or limitation.
|
ਆਪੇ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਆਪੇ ਪਾਸਾਰੁ ॥
आपे गुपतु आपे पासारु ॥
Aapé gupaṫ aapé paasaar.
He Himself is unmanifest, and He Himself is manifest.
|
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਆਦੁ ॥
जा कै अंतरि हरि हरि सुआदु ॥
Jaa kæ anṫar har har su▫aaḋ.
One who enjoys the taste of the Lord, Har, Har, deep within himself,
|
ਕਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਸਮਾਦੁ ॥੪॥੯॥੨੦॥
कहनु न जाई नानक बिसमादु ॥४॥९॥२०॥
Kahan na jaa▫ee Naanak bismaaḋ. ||4||9||20||
O Nanak! His wondrous state cannot be described. ||4||9||20||

ਭੇਟਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
भेटत संगि पारब्रहमु चिति आइआ ॥
Bʰétaṫ sang paarbarahm chiṫ aa▫i▫aa.
Meeting with the Sangat, the Congregation, the Supreme Lord God has come into my consciousness.
|
ਸੰਗਤਿ ਕਰਤ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਮਨਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
संगति करत संतोखु मनि पाइआ ॥
Sangaṫ karaṫ sanṫokʰ man paa▫i▫aa.
In the Sangat, my mind has found contentment.
|
ਸੰਤਹ ਚਰਨ ਮਾਥਾ ਮੇਰੋ ਪਉਤ ॥
संतह चरन माथा मेरो पउत ॥
Sanṫėh charan maaṫʰaa méro pa▫uṫ.
I touch my forehead to the feet of the Saints.
|
ਅਨਿਕ ਬਾਰ ਸੰਤਹ ਡੰਡਉਤ ॥੧॥
अनिक बार संतह डंडउत ॥१॥
Anik baar sanṫėh dand▫uṫ. ||1||
Countless times, I humbly bow to the Saints. ||1||
|
ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥
इहु मनु संतन कै बलिहारी ॥
Ih man sanṫan kæ balihaaree.
This mind is a sacrifice to the Saints;
|
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਓਟ ਗਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਰਾਖੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जा की ओट गही सुखु पाइआ राखे किरपा धारी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jaa kee ot gahee sukʰ paa▫i▫aa raakʰé kirpaa ḋʰaaree. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
holding tight to their support, I have found peace, and in their mercy, they have protected me. ||1||Pause||
|
ਸੰਤਹ ਚਰਣ ਧੋਇ ਧੋਇ ਪੀਵਾ ॥
संतह चरण धोइ धोइ पीवा ॥
Sanṫėh charaṇ ḋʰo▫é ḋʰo▫é peevaa.
I wash the feet of the Saints, and drink that water.
|
ਸੰਤਹ ਦਰਸੁ ਪੇਖਿ ਪੇਖਿ ਜੀਵਾ ॥
संतह दरसु पेखि पेखि जीवा ॥
Sanṫėh ḋaras pékʰ pékʰ jeevaa.
Gazing upon the Blessed Vision of the Saints’ Darshan, I live.

ਸੰਤਹ ਕੀ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਸ ॥
संतह की मेरै मनि आस ॥
Sanṫėh kee méræ man aas.
My mind rests its hopes in the Saints.
|
ਸੰਤ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਰਾਸਿ ॥੨॥
संत हमारी निरमल रासि ॥२॥
Sanṫ hamaaree nirmal raas. ||2||
The Saints are my immaculate wealth. ||2||
|
ਸੰਤ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਪੜਦਾ ॥
संत हमारा राखिआ पड़दा ॥
Sanṫ hamaaraa raakʰi▫aa paṛ▫ḋaa.
The Saints have covered my faults.
|
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਕਬਹੂ ਨ ਕੜਦਾ ॥
संत प्रसादि मोहि कबहू न कड़दा ॥
Sanṫ parsaaḋ mohi kabhoo na kaṛ▫ḋaa.
By the Grace of the Saints, I am no longer tormented.
|
ਸੰਤਹ ਸੰਗੁ ਦੀਆ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥
संतह संगु दीआ किरपाल ॥
Sanṫėh sang ḋee▫aa kirpaal.
The Merciful Lord has blessed me with the Saints’ Congregation.
|
ਸੰਤ ਸਹਾਈ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਲ ॥੩॥
संत सहाई भए दइआल ॥३॥
Sanṫ sahaa▫ee bʰa▫é ḋa▫i▫aal. ||3||
The Compassionate Saints have become my help and support. ||3||
|
ਸੁਰਤਿ ਮਤਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ॥
सुरति मति बुधि परगासु ॥
Suraṫ maṫ buḋʰ pargaas.
My consciousness, intellect and wisdom have been enlightened.
|
ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਅਪਾਰ ਗੁਣਤਾਸੁ ॥
गहिर ग्मभीर अपार गुणतासु ॥
Gahir gambʰeer apaar guṇṫaas.
The Lord is profound, unfathomable, infinite, the treasure of virtue.

ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਗਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ॥
जीअ जंत सगले प्रतिपाल ॥
Jee▫a janṫ saglé parṫipaal.
He cherishes all beings and creatures.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤਹ ਦੇਖਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੨੧॥
नानक संतह देखि निहाल ॥४॥१०॥२१॥
Naanak sanṫėh ḋékʰ nihaal. ||4||10||21||
Nanak is enraptured, seeing the Saints. ||4||10||21||

ਤੇਰੈ ਕਾਜਿ ਨ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਰਾਜੁ ਮਾਲੁ ॥
तेरै काजि न ग्रिहु राजु मालु ॥
Ṫéræ kaaj na garihu raaj maal.
Your home, power and wealth will be of no use to you.
|
ਤੇਰੈ ਕਾਜਿ ਨ ਬਿਖੈ ਜੰਜਾਲੁ ॥
तेरै काजि न बिखै जंजालु ॥
Ṫéræ kaaj na bikʰæ janjaal.
Your corrupt worldly entanglements will be of no use to you.
|
ਇਸਟ ਮੀਤ ਜਾਣੁ ਸਭ ਛਲੈ ॥
इसट मीत जाणु सभ छलै ॥
Isat meeṫ jaaṇ sabʰ chʰalæ.
Know that all your dear friends are fake.
|
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਚਲੈ ॥੧॥
हरि हरि नामु संगि तेरै चलै ॥१॥
Har har naam sang ṫéræ chalæ. ||1||
Only the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, will go along with you. ||1||
|
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਲੇ ਮੀਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਤੇਰੀ ਲਾਜ ਰਹੈ ॥
राम नाम गुण गाइ ले मीता हरि सिमरत तेरी लाज रहै ॥
Raam naam guṇ gaa▫é lé meeṫaa har simraṫ ṫéree laaj rahæ.
Sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord’s Name, O friend; remembering the Lord in meditation, your honor shall be saved.

ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਜਮੁ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਕਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
हरि सिमरत जमु कछु न कहै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Har simraṫ jam kachʰ na kahæ. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Remembering the Lord in meditation, the Messenger of Death will not touch you. ||1||Pause||
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਗਲ ਨਿਰਾਰਥ ਕਾਮ ॥
बिनु हरि सगल निरारथ काम ॥
Bin har sagal niraaraṫʰ kaam.
Without the Lord, all pursuits are useless.
|
ਸੁਇਨਾ ਰੁਪਾ ਮਾਟੀ ਦਾਮ ॥
सुइना रुपा माटी दाम ॥
Su▫inaa rupaa maatee ḋaam.
Gold, silver and wealth are just dust.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਜਾਪਿ ਮਨ ਸੁਖਾ ॥
गुर का सबदु जापि मन सुखा ॥
Gur kaa sabaḋ jaap man sukʰaa.
Chanting the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, your mind shall be at peace.

ਈਹਾ ਊਹਾ ਤੇਰੋ ਊਜਲ ਮੁਖਾ ॥੨॥
ईहा ऊहा तेरो ऊजल मुखा ॥२॥
Eehaa oohaa ṫéro oojal mukʰaa. ||2||
Here and hereafter, your face shall be radiant and bright. ||2||
|
ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਥਾਕੇ ਵਡੇ ਵਡੇਰੇ ॥
करि करि थाके वडे वडेरे ॥
Kar kar ṫʰaaké vadé vadéré.
Even the greatest of the great worked and worked until they were exhausted.
|
ਕਿਨ ਹੀ ਨ ਕੀਏ ਕਾਜ ਮਾਇਆ ਪੂਰੇ ॥
किन ही न कीए काज माइआ पूरे ॥
Kin hee na kee▫é kaaj maa▫i▫aa pooré.
None of them ever accomplished the tasks of Maya.
|
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੈ ਜਨੁ ਕੋਇ ॥
हरि हरि नामु जपै जनु कोइ ॥
Har har naam japæ jan ko▫é.
Any humble being who chants the Name of the Lord, Har, Har,
|
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਆਸਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥
ता की आसा पूरन होइ ॥३॥
Ṫaa kee aasaa pooran ho▫é. ||3||
will have all his hopes fulfilled. ||3||
|
ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਨ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
हरि भगतन को नामु अधारु ॥
Har bʰagṫan ko naam aḋʰaar.
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is the anchor and support of the Lord’s devotees.
|
ਸੰਤੀ ਜੀਤਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥
संती जीता जनमु अपारु ॥
Sanṫee jeeṫaa janam apaar.
The Saints are victorious in this priceless human life.
|
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤੁ ਕਰੇ ਸੋਈ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥
हरि संतु करे सोई परवाणु ॥
Har sanṫ karé so▫ee parvaaṇ.
Whatever the Lord’s Saint does, is approved and accepted.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ॥੪॥੧੧॥੨੨॥
नानक दासु ता कै कुरबाणु ॥४॥११॥२२॥
Naanak ḋaas ṫaa kæ kurbaaṇ. ||4||11||22||
Slave Nanak is a sacrifice to him. ||4||11||22||

ਸਿੰਚਹਿ ਦਰਬੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਲੋਗ ॥
सिंचहि दरबु देहि दुखु लोग ॥
Sinchėh ḋarab ḋėh ḋukʰ log.
You gather wealth by exploiting people.
|
ਤੇਰੈ ਕਾਜਿ ਨ ਅਵਰਾ ਜੋਗ ॥
तेरै काजि न अवरा जोग ॥
Ṫéræ kaaj na avraa jog.
It is of no use to you; it was meant for others.
|
ਕਰਿ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਹੋਇ ਵਰਤਹਿ ਅੰਧ ॥
करि अहंकारु होइ वरतहि अंध ॥
Kar ahaⁿkaar ho▫é varṫėh anḋʰ.
You practice egotism, and act like a blind man.
|
ਜਮ ਕੀ ਜੇਵੜੀ ਤੂ ਆਗੈ ਬੰਧ ॥੧॥
जम की जेवड़ी तू आगै बंध ॥१॥
Jam kee jévṛee ṫoo aagæ banḋʰ. ||1||
In the world hereafter, you shall be tied to the leash of the Messenger of Death. ||1||
|
ਛਾਡਿ ਵਿਡਾਣੀ ਤਾਤਿ ਮੂੜੇ ॥
छाडि विडाणी ताति मूड़े ॥
Chʰaad vidaaṇee ṫaaṫ mooṛé.
Give up your envy of others, you fool!
|
ਈਹਾ ਬਸਨਾ ਰਾਤਿ ਮੂੜੇ ॥
ईहा बसना राति मूड़े ॥
Eehaa basnaa raaṫ mooṛé.
You only live here for a night, you fool!
|
ਮਾਇਆ ਕੇ ਮਾਤੇ ਤੈ ਉਠਿ ਚਲਨਾ ॥
माइआ के माते तै उठि चलना ॥
Maa▫i▫aa ké maaṫé ṫæ utʰ chalnaa.
You are intoxicated with Maya, but you must soon arise and depart.

ਰਾਚਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਤੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੁਪਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
राचि रहिओ तू संगि सुपना ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Raach rahi▫o ṫoo sang supnaa. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
You are totally involved in the dream. ||1||Pause||
|
ਬਾਲ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਬਾਰਿਕੁ ਅੰਧ ॥
बाल बिवसथा बारिकु अंध ॥
Baal bivasṫʰaa baarik anḋʰ.
In his childhood, the child is blind.
|
ਭਰਿ ਜੋਬਨਿ ਲਾਗਾ ਦੁਰਗੰਧ ॥
भरि जोबनि लागा दुरगंध ॥
Bʰar joban laagaa ḋurganḋʰ.
In the fullness of youth, he is involved in foul-smelling sins.
