ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਜਿ ਚੀਨੑਸੀ ਆਸਾ ਤੇ ਨ ਭਾਵਸੀ ॥
पारब्रहमु जि चीन्हसी आसा ते न भावसी ॥
Paarbarahm jė cheenĥsee aasaa ṫé na bʰaavsee.
One who recognizes the Supreme Lord God, dislikes other desires.

ਰਾਮਾ ਭਗਤਹ ਚੇਤੀਅਲੇ ਅਚਿੰਤ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਖਸੀ ॥੧॥
रामा भगतह चेतीअले अचिंत मनु राखसी ॥१॥
Raamaa bʰagṫah chéṫee▫alé achinṫ man raakʰsee. ||1||
He focuses his consciousness on the Lord’s devotional worship, and keeps his mind free of anxiety. ||1||
|
ਕੈਸੇ ਮਨ ਤਰਹਿਗਾ ਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਬਿਖੈ ਕੋ ਬਨਾ ॥
कैसे मन तरहिगा रे संसारु सागरु बिखै को बना ॥
Kæsé man ṫar▫higaa ré sansaar saagar bikʰæ ko banaa.
O my mind! How will you cross over the world-ocean, if you are filled with the water of corruption?

ਝੂਠੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇਖਿ ਕੈ ਭੂਲਾ ਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
झूठी माइआ देखि कै भूला रे मना ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jʰootʰee maa▫i▫aa ḋékʰ kæ bʰoolaa ré manaa. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Gazing upon the falseness of Maya, you have gone astray, O my mind. ||1||Pause||

ਛੀਪੇ ਕੇ ਘਰਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਦੈਲਾ ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਭੈਲਾ ॥
छीपे के घरि जनमु दैला गुर उपदेसु भैला ॥
Chʰeepé ké gʰar janam ḋælaa gur upḋés bʰælaa.
You have given me birth in the house of a calico-printer, but I have found the Teachings of the Guru.

ਸੰਤਹ ਕੈ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਹਰਿ ਭੇਟੁਲਾ ॥੨॥੫॥
संतह कै परसादि नामा हरि भेटुला ॥२॥५॥
Sanṫėh kæ parsaaḋ naamaa har bʰétulaa. ||2||5||
By the Grace of the Saint, Namdev has met the Lord. ||2||5||

ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਮੀਨ ਭ੍ਰਿੰਗ ਪਤੰਗ ਕੁੰਚਰ ਏਕ ਦੋਖ ਬਿਨਾਸ ॥
म्रिग मीन भ्रिंग पतंग कुंचर एक दोख बिनास ॥
Marig meen bʰaring paṫang kunchar ék ḋokʰ binaas.
The deer, the fish, the bumble bee, the moth and the elephant are destroyed, each for a single defect.

ਪੰਚ ਦੋਖ ਅਸਾਧ ਜਾ ਮਹਿ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਕੇਤਕ ਆਸ ॥੧॥
पंच दोख असाध जा महि ता की केतक आस ॥१॥
Panch ḋokʰ asaaḋʰ jaa mėh ṫaa kee kéṫak aas. ||1||
So, the one who is filled with the five incurable vices - what hope is there for him? ||1||
|
ਮਾਧੋ ਅਬਿਦਿਆ ਹਿਤ ਕੀਨ ॥
माधो अबिदिआ हित कीन ॥
Maaḋʰo abiḋi▫aa hiṫ keen.
O Lord, he is in love with ignorance.

ਬਿਬੇਕ ਦੀਪ ਮਲੀਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
बिबेक दीप मलीन ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Bibék ḋeep maleen. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
His lamp of clear wisdom has grown dim. ||1||Pause||

ਤ੍ਰਿਗਦ ਜੋਨਿ ਅਚੇਤ ਸੰਭਵ ਪੁੰਨ ਪਾਪ ਅਸੋਚ ॥
त्रिगद जोनि अचेत स्मभव पुंन पाप असोच ॥
Ṫarigaḋ jon achéṫ sambʰav punn paap asoch.
The creeping creatures live thoughtless lives, and cannot discriminate between good and evil.

ਮਾਨੁਖਾ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਦੁਲਭ ਤਿਹੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਪੋਚ ॥੨॥
मानुखा अवतार दुलभ तिही संगति पोच ॥२॥
Maanukʰaa avṫaar ḋulabʰ ṫihee sangaṫ poch. ||2||
It is so difficult to obtain this human incarnation, and yet, they keep company with the low. ||2||
|
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਜਹਾ ਜਹਾ ਲਗੁ ਕਰਮ ਕੇ ਬਸਿ ਜਾਇ ॥
जीअ जंत जहा जहा लगु करम के बसि जाइ ॥
Jee▫a janṫ jahaa jahaa lag karam ké bas jaa▫é.
Wherever the beings and creatures are, they are born according to the karma of their past actions.

ਕਾਲ ਫਾਸ ਅਬਧ ਲਾਗੇ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਚਲੈ ਉਪਾਇ ॥੩॥
काल फास अबध लागे कछु न चलै उपाइ ॥३॥
Kaal faas abaḋʰ laagé kachʰ na chalæ upaa▫é. ||3||
The noose of death is unforgiving, and it shall catch them; it cannot be warded off. ||3||
|
ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਦਾਸ ਉਦਾਸ ਤਜੁ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਤਪਨ ਤਪੁ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨ ॥
रविदास दास उदास तजु भ्रमु तपन तपु गुर गिआन ॥
Raviḋaas ḋaas uḋaas ṫaj bʰaram ṫapan ṫap gur gi▫aan.
O servant Ravi Das, dispel your sorrow and doubt, and know that Guru-given spiritual wisdom is the penance of penances.

ਭਗਤ ਜਨ ਭੈ ਹਰਨ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦ ਕਰਹੁ ਨਿਦਾਨ ॥੪॥੧॥
भगत जन भै हरन परमानंद करहु निदान ॥४॥१॥
Bʰagaṫ jan bʰæ haran parmaananḋ karahu niḋaan. ||4||1||
O Lord, Destroyer of the fears of Your humble devotees, make me supremely blissful in the end. ||4||1||

ਸੰਤ ਤੁਝੀ ਤਨੁ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ॥
संत तुझी तनु संगति प्रान ॥
Sanṫ ṫujʰee ṫan sangaṫ paraan.
Your Saints are Your body, and their company is Your breath of life.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨ ਜਾਨੈ ਸੰਤ ਦੇਵਾ ਦੇਵ ॥੧॥
सतिगुर गिआन जानै संत देवा देव ॥१॥
Saṫgur gi▫aan jaanæ sanṫ ḋévaa ḋév. ||1||
By the True Guru-given spiritual wisdom, I know the Saints as the gods of gods. ||1||
|
ਸੰਤ ਚੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸੰਤ ਕਥਾ ਰਸੁ ॥
संत ची संगति संत कथा रसु ॥
Sanṫ chee sangaṫ sanṫ kaṫʰaa ras.
Grant me the Society of the Saints, the sublime essence of the Saints’ conversation,

ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਮਾਝੈ ਦੀਜੈ ਦੇਵਾ ਦੇਵ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
संत प्रेम माझै दीजै देवा देव ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sanṫ parém maajʰæ ḋeejæ ḋévaa ḋév. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
and the Love of the Saints, O Lord, God of gods. ||1||Pause||

ਸੰਤ ਆਚਰਣ ਸੰਤ ਚੋ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਸੰਤ ਚ ਓਲ੍ਹਗ ਓਲ੍ਹਗਣੀ ॥੨॥
संत आचरण संत चो मारगु संत च ओल्हग ओल्हगणी ॥२॥
Sanṫ aachraṇ sanṫ cho maarag sanṫ cha olahg olahgṇee. ||2||
The Character of the Saints, the lifestyle of the Saints, and the service of the servant of the Saints. ||2||
|
ਅਉਰ ਇਕ ਮਾਗਉ ਭਗਤਿ ਚਿੰਤਾਮਣਿ ॥
अउर इक मागउ भगति चिंतामणि ॥
A▫or ik maaga▫o bʰagaṫ chinṫaamaṇ.
I ask for these, and for one thing more - devotional worship, which shall fulfill my desires.

ਜਣੀ ਲਖਾਵਹੁ ਅਸੰਤ ਪਾਪੀ ਸਣਿ ॥੩॥
जणी लखावहु असंत पापी सणि ॥३॥
Jaṇee likʰaavahu asanṫ paapee saṇ. ||3||
Do not show me the wicked sinners. ||3||
|
ਰਵਿਦਾਸੁ ਭਣੈ ਜੋ ਜਾਣੈ ਸੋ ਜਾਣੁ ॥
रविदासु भणै जो जाणै सो जाणु ॥
Raviḋaas bʰaṇæ jo jaaṇæ so jaaṇ.
Says Ravi Das, he alone is wise, who knows this:

ਸੰਤ ਅਨੰਤਹਿ ਅੰਤਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੪॥੨॥
संत अनंतहि अंतरु नाही ॥४॥२॥
Sanṫ anaⁿṫėh anṫar naahee. ||4||2||
there is no difference between the Saints and the Infinite Lord. ||4||2||

ਤੁਮ ਚੰਦਨ ਹਮ ਇਰੰਡ ਬਾਪੁਰੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੇ ਬਾਸਾ ॥
तुम चंदन हम इरंड बापुरे संगि तुमारे बासा ॥
Ṫum chanḋan ham irand baapuré sang ṫumaaré baasaa.
You are sandalwood, and I am the poor castor oil plant, dwelling close to you.

ਨੀਚ ਰੂਖ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਭਏ ਹੈ ਗੰਧ ਸੁਗੰਧ ਨਿਵਾਸਾ ॥੧॥
नीच रूख ते ऊच भए है गंध सुगंध निवासा ॥१॥
Neech rookʰ ṫé ooch bʰa▫é hæ ganḋʰ suganḋʰ nivaasaa. ||1||
From a lowly tree, I have become exalted; Your fragrance, Your exquisite fragrance now permeates me. ||1||
|
ਮਾਧਉ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਰਨਿ ਤੁਮੑਾਰੀ ॥
माधउ सतसंगति सरनि तुम्हारी ॥
Maaḋʰa▫o saṫsangaṫ saran ṫumĥaaree.
O Lord, I seek the Sanctuary of the company of Your Saints;

ਹਮ ਅਉਗਨ ਤੁਮੑ ਉਪਕਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
हम अउगन तुम्ह उपकारी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ham a▫ugan ṫumĥ upkaaree. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
I am worthless, and You are so benevolent. ||1||Pause||
|
ਤੁਮ ਮਖਤੂਲ ਸੁਪੇਦ ਸਪੀਅਲ ਹਮ ਬਪੁਰੇ ਜਸ ਕੀਰਾ ॥
तुम मखतूल सुपेद सपीअल हम बपुरे जस कीरा ॥
Ṫum makʰ▫ṫool supéḋ sapee▫al ham bapuré jas keeraa.
You are the white and yellow threads of silk, and I am like a poor worm.

ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੀਐ ਮਾਧਉ ਜੈਸੇ ਮਧੁਪ ਮਖੀਰਾ ॥੨॥
सतसंगति मिलि रहीऐ माधउ जैसे मधुप मखीरा ॥२॥
Saṫsangaṫ mil rahee▫æ maaḋʰa▫o jæsé maḋʰup makʰeeraa. ||2||
O Lord, I seek to live in the Company of the Saints, like the bee with its honey. ||2||
|
ਜਾਤੀ ਓਛਾ ਪਾਤੀ ਓਛਾ ਓਛਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥
जाती ओछा पाती ओछा ओछा जनमु हमारा ॥
Jaaṫee ochʰaa paaṫee ochʰaa ochʰaa janam hamaaraa.
My social status is low, my ancestry is low, and my birth is low as well.

ਰਾਜਾ ਰਾਮ ਕੀ ਸੇਵ ਨ ਕੀਨੀ ਕਹਿ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਚਮਾਰਾ ॥੩॥੩॥
राजा राम की सेव न कीनी कहि रविदास चमारा ॥३॥३॥
Raajaa raam kee sév na keenee kahi Raviḋaas chamaaraa. ||3||3||
I have not performed the service of the Lord, the Lord, says Ravi Das the cobbler. ||3||3||

ਕਹਾ ਭਇਓ ਜਉ ਤਨੁ ਭਇਓ ਛਿਨੁ ਛਿਨੁ ॥
कहा भइओ जउ तनु भइओ छिनु छिनु ॥
Kahaa bʰa▫i▫o ja▫o ṫan bʰa▫i▫o chʰin chʰin.
What would it matter, if my body were cut into pieces?

ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਜਾਇ ਤਉ ਡਰਪੈ ਤੇਰੋ ਜਨੁ ॥੧॥
प्रेमु जाइ तउ डरपै तेरो जनु ॥१॥
Parém jaa▫é ṫa▫o darpæ ṫéro jan. ||1||
If I were to lose Your Love, Lord, then Your humble servant would be afraid. ||1||
|
ਤੁਝਹਿ ਚਰਨ ਅਰਬਿੰਦ ਭਵਨ ਮਨੁ ॥
तुझहि चरन अरबिंद भवन मनु ॥
Ṫujʰėh charan arbinḋ bʰavan man.
Your lotus feet are the home of my mind.

ਪਾਨ ਕਰਤ ਪਾਇਓ ਪਾਇਓ ਰਾਮਈਆ ਧਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
पान करत पाइओ पाइओ रामईआ धनु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Paan karaṫ paa▫i▫o paa▫i▫o raam▫ee▫aa ḋʰan. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Drinking in Your Nectar, I have obtained the wealth of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਸੰਪਤਿ ਬਿਪਤਿ ਪਟਲ ਮਾਇਆ ਧਨੁ ॥
स्मपति बिपति पटल माइआ धनु ॥
Sampaṫ bipaṫ patal maa▫i▫aa ḋʰan.
Prosperity, adversity, property and wealth are just Maya.
